If anyone watches the Niners/Packer game tonight ...

Focus on the the linebackers on both sides. Both teams can get to those edges in a hurry. Saints should consider Martinez (Packers) if Klein leaves in Free Agency or in the draft. The lack of speed to get to those edges hurt us in the Wildcard game.

Looking like acquiring WR Emmanuel Sanders was a solid move pre trade deadline. He's definitely changed the complexion of that offense.

Not so sure Jimmy G could rely solely on Deebo / Kittle to open things up downfield.

You're right that Jimmy G can't rely on those two guys. I think that is the reason the Niners looked into acquiring another weapon.

We should've traded for Sanders.

When we made ZERO moves for the deadline, that was enough to tell me that we weren't going to win the NFC. The team bought into their own hype and started believing the nonsense that they were good enough this year cause "we got robbed last year". The Falcons humiliated us at home following that. That game was something of a rude awakening, but it was the Niners game that really told the story about where our season was going to end.

I hope the Chiefs win, but I have my doubts. If I had to pick right now, I'm going with the Niners. I'd trust Shanahan before I trust Reid.

One thing about this matchup though; I expect the Chiefs to put up points. They remind me of the old Saints from between 2009 to 2011. They may struggle early on, but they'll get back into it and when they're firing on all cylinders, they'll score TDs on just 2-3 minute drives.

I think if the Chiefs can swarm Jimmy G and blitz him good enough, they have a chance. I don't expect the Niners front to be all over Mahomes like they were Rodgers, cause he's good at evading pressure.

I'm taking the Niners.

Solid group up in the trenches, solid RUN game and a very fast, swarming defense. Still can't believe Jimmy only threw the ball 9 times all game long.

KC/Niners should be a very good Super Bowl.

And Sanders didn't catch any.

In fact the last 3 games of the season Deebo caught more balls than Sanders.

Can you imagine if Payton had traded for him and then didn't throw his way during the NFCCG?

Well Shanahan ran the ball a million times yesterday .... but Sanders sure as hell found a way to go out and torch our a** in the dome didn't he? Go and tell Dennis Allen, Glenn and our secondary not to account for the 32 year old veteran WR.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think Sanders has not had a profound impact on that teams offensive game plan and the ability to move them down the field with his route ability. What's Tre and Ginn's excuse? One could argue our # 2WR was Taysom Hill.

Big picture and the point you are missing is that he is another added weapon to a Jimmy G led offense.

But here we are ...

I never said he wasn't an added weapon. I said he was an added UNUSED weapon who's role seems to be diminishing.

The final sentence was the reason for the post.

Can you imagine if Payton had traded for him and then didn't throw his way during the NFCCG?
