I'm curious as to what his injury was. Took quite some time to heal for an ankle.

Make or break time for Smith in my eyes. He looked like he had progressed big time before the injury. Let’s hope that’s still the case.

There are different degrees of a high ankle sprain. He probably had one of the more severe.

I was thinking so, too. The team may be thinking the same.

Yeah that migh be the case but it could have been a fracture too. This is about the time it takes to heal and regain the strenght.

1st degree – mild sprain, slight pain, recovery ~ 1 day.

2nd degree – moderate sprain, partial tear of ligaments, swelling and more pain, recovery ~ 1 to 2 weeks.

3rd degree – severe rupture of ligaments, popping noise heard, more swelling and pain, recovery ~ 1 month.
