Well that’s fantastic with Mike Evans next week. |

Not trying to come across as a smart a** but who are you defeating in the post season with the lack of production opposite MT? This is by far the worst WR core the Saints have had in quite a while. |

I can't pile on the WR's yesterday because the O line played just as poorly. Pretty much the entire team but not being to separate at wide out played a huge part with the struggles offensively. Not having a threat opposite Mike really puts us behind the 8 ball. Ginn Jr is a burner but not so much a possession receiver. He's always had "issues" catching the ball dating back to Miami. I'm not sold on Tre'quan Smith ever becoming that dude who can consistently beat zone coverage. Did you happen to watch the Cows games last night? Michael Gallup continues to produce (td's, chain mover on 3rd down) at a high level for them. This guy went a few picks before Tre in the 2018 draft . His route running is crisp and smooth & he's helping out Amari big time. Saints front office had a golden opportunity to make a move before the trade deadline however we didn't capitalize. Emmanuel Sanders would have been a "threat" ... hell he already made his presence felt last week in his 1st game as a Niner. I know many will scream "draft capital to acquire X receiver isn't worth it" but you see what can/will happen on Sundays without a true #2 WR. 2019 is win now and you have to do what you have to do if you want to see another Lombardi before Brees exits. I have absolutely no faith in the guys we line up opposite Thomas but it is what it is. Next man up I guess . Saints need to re group, re focus and execute next weekend. Tampa won't feel sorry for us come Sunday either. Don't bring your A game at this level, you will go home with an L. Who Dat :bng: |
Re: Observations from the Saints' Loss to the Falcons
Someone complained in a thread yesterday about Brees putting the players at risk with some of his throws yesterday. That’s the natural result of not getting ANY separation, Brees can fit it in to those tight windows but witness what can happen ... Tre’quan on his only reception yesterday ... brutal. But again yesterday Brees did not have the time behind that Offensive line play yesterday to allow enough time for our receivers other than ones named Thomas to clear.
