Saints Solution

Saints Solution is simple, BUT Payton doesn't do simple and it works for him... sometimes I'm surprised how, but it does. The solution to the Saints woes that were thoroughly exposed Sunday are simply RUNNING THE BALL...RUN THE BALL...RUN THE BALL.

The Saints at the moment don't have the weapons needed to spread defenses out through the air.

BUT they do have the means to have a HEAVY RUN, PA/PA ROLLOUT, OFFENSE that opens up passing game more

It's simple but Payton isn't the biggest fan of simple

Heavy Doses of Murray and Kamara is going to be a hard pill to swallow for any team.

Plus running the ball is easier on our Oline than Pass blocking

Everything Payton loves to do can be done if he lets the RBs do what they are paid to do.

There should be at least 20 touches between Kamara and Murray alone in the run game NO trick plays included. Pass rushing is easier than run stopping especially when your Oline is already on it's heels and defense is pinned back.....IJS make When Mark and AK combined in Rushing game those were some of our best games

Re: Saints Solution

This is why we lost last week and why we looked so bad against AZ in the first half. Payton is putting the ball in Drew’s hands too much, we win this year when we can run te ball and play defense. Payton is forcing the pass with Drew back.

Re: Saints Solution

Bill Parcels used to always say Sean was too "pass happy" as a OC.

He could have Dickerson & Sanders in his back field but I don't think he'll ever change his style of calling plays.

Running the ball simply isn't his forte'.

Re watching that Atl game, I just don't understand why Coach wasn't patient with the run game. Latavius has produced at a high level & AK is at 85-90 %.

Having Brees drop back 45 + times just isn't healthy for anyone.

Run the ball down their throats. You're right. It sounds simple.

Re: Saints Solution

Heard interview with Curtis Johnson yesterday and he said Harris is going to be way more involved in the passing game going forward. Said he’s picked up multiple positions and can play them well. He said Butler was behind because of his injury and never really caught up to the offense which made him one dimensional. He wants all the receivers to be able to line up anywhere and play any position. He said Butler is now up to speed and we will see more of him.
Lip service maybe who knows.
He also basically said Ginn **** the bed and he expects better.

Re: Saints Solution

The Vikings are running the ball a lot more and are a heavy play-action team and it's working nicely for them. If we took a greater emphasis on running and play action ourselves it might play to our strengths too.

Re: Saints Solution

Drew itcy to play hero after being out for 5 weeks.

cant help but think and it sounds odd, that Bridgewater would of done better due to less play changing at the line.

Been thinking the same thing but
was sure I’d get blasted for stating such.
