8-2 With 6 games left in regular season (statistical)
I was going to do a split a few weeks back but needed to see how we transitioned back at QB and wanted to get the Bye past us...
The team is doing quite well this season, the fanbase not so much. 1. We are going into the last stretch of the season knowing that we have two starting QBs that we can win with. Some teams do not have one. 2. Kamara is everything we think/thought he is. Murry isn't a bull without the Offensive Line playing well, he struggled at the start of the season and is struggling now. Murry has averaged 2.6 and 2.7 YPC in the last two weeks. (For those who adore Mark Ingram, he is getting out run by his QB and yesterday was 3rd in rushing production, only you miss him). 3. Cam Jordan has 9.5 sacks in week 11. 4. Marcus Williams has 4 Interceptions.. Tied for 4th in the league, 1 away from being tied for first. 5. The Saints defense is #5 in the league in yardage, #12 in points. We need to work on Red Zone. 6. Our defense has the second fewest penalties with 57, our offense is has the nineteenth fewest with 74. Our fans think we are the most heavily penalized team in the league. Conspiracy theories aside, we desperatly need to clean up our offensive game play so that don't keep finding ourselves stuck in passing situations. 7. We are 9th in Passing Yards and 12th in passing TDs, 14th in rushing yards per carry (Thanks Kamara) and 24th in rushing TDs... Fans want Murry to get the ball more. We need to run more, Kamara needs to run more, lets hope he stays healthy because if the O-Line inst blocking and Murry cant run its going to be pass city with one of the best QB minds but weakest arms in the league. We are 8-2, have a three game lead in the division, and in a three way tie for 2nd in the Conference. Ahead of us for Home Field Advantage are the 49ers and Packers. We are projected 3rd seed with Panthersx2 (5-5), Falcons (3-7), Colts (6-4), Titans (5-5) and 49ers (9-1) remaining. 49ers play the Packers this week so one of those will drop. The 49ers schedule moving forward is fairly tough, and the three teams around us play each other 49ers/Seahawks/Packers... Saints remaining schedule: Panthersx2 (5-5), Falcons (3-7), Colts (6-4), Titans (5-5) and 49ers (9-1) 49ers remaining schedule: Packers (8-2), Ravens (8-2), Saints (8-2), Falcons (3-7), Rams (6-4), Seahawks (8-2) Packers remaining schedule: 49ers (9-1), Giants (2-8), Redskins (1-9), Bears (4-6), Vikings (8-3), Lions (3-6) Seahawks remaining schedule: Eagles (5-5), Vikings (8-3), Rams (6-4), Panthers (5-5), Cardinals (3-7), 49ers (9-1). |

4. Marcus Williams has 4 Interceptions.. Tied for 4th in the league, 1 away from being tied for first.
** extremely impressed with his ball skills. He's re focused, re grouped and has played some exceptional football in 2019. Nice pick 6 on yesterday too. |

49ers remaining schedule: Packers (8-2), Ravens (8-2), Saints (8-2), Falcons (3-7), Rams (6-4), Seahawks (8-2)
Brutal stretch of football for the Niners. I think they drop at least 2 (Ravens/Saints) this month ... maybe the Seahawks. |
Re: 8-2 With 6 games left in regular season (statistical)
If we stay healthy, we have a shot to secure HFA. There's no way the Whiners keep pace with how tough their schedule is. The Packers' schedule is less tough, but still stout. ViQueens are coming around. It should be fun nonetheless down the stretch.

Minnesota and SF pulled rabbits out of the hat on Sunday.
Lot of tough games this week: Sea @ Philly, the SF/GB game, Rams hosting Balt. Could look drastically different this time next week. |
Re: 8-2 With 6 games left in regular season (statistical)
Murray’s numbers would be a whole lot better with more carries. How do I know, he’s done it twice this season so far. Not to mention, Tampa has the #1 rush defense in the league.

The Jets have the #1 rushing Defense in the league. There is nothing that says any number of runs makes Murry better, the numbers would prove otherwise. Does he run better with more carries or gets more carries when he runs better? This is your answer Houston 6 Carries 7.17 YPC Dallas 4 Carries 3.5 YPC Tampa 4 Carries 4.0 YPC JAX 8 carries 5.5 YPC Los Angeles 5 Carries 1.4YPC Seattle 2 Carries 1 But how many does he need? Falcons 5 Carrioes 2.4 YPC Buccs 10 Carries 2.7 YPC Six Carries looks optimal: Houston 6 Carries 7.17 YPC The whole 'needs more to do better' was thrown around his entire career as a Saint. |

A few interesting Gems..
Will Lutz has scored 86 points, 4th highest in the league... He has more than Murry, Thomas, Kamara, Ginn Combined. Cam Jordan's 9.5 sacks accounts for 69 yards of losses. Marcus Williams has 4 Interceptions but is also tied for first with 12 passes defended. Saints are +8 in turn over differential. (we were +11 in 2009) Saints have the #3 rushing defense with 85.3 yards per game. |
Re: 8-2 With 6 games left in regular season (statistical)
Sometimes the Saints try to run and it’s just ineffective and they get away from it. I don’t blame ‘em. It’s not always as easy as handing the ball of every other play. When they stack the box I’d audible to a pass too. A lot of this analysis is too hard to call when we don’t know the intricacies of the game. Camera angles don’t provide a good view of what’s going on.

Say what you want about HFA, but this team has probably done statistically better on the road the last 2 years than at home. I dunno about getting to the SB as a 3 or 4 seed though, winning 3 is rather much in the NFC this year. But I believe if we had to go to GB or SF in the NFCCG, we would win it.

The 2006 - the Saints team that played Dallas last year, not so much. Reason being is, we don’t throw deep passes as much. Our current offense is build for the GB playing conditions. We run the ball and throw no more than 10 yard passes. It’s not a knock, it’s just who we are as a offense. An offense that’s gotten us to 8-2. |

Ravens are good and if it is in Baltimore I would give them an L. Packers and Saints will not be walks in the park, neither will Seatlle or the rams...and depending on which Flacons show up. Honestly they could easily be an 11-5 team getting the 6th seed. |

We are looking ahead waaaaay too much.
The Atlanta game proved that. ONE GAME AT A TIME. IF HFA happens, good. ONE GAME AT A TIME. This weeks its the Panthers. Lets concentrate on that! |
