Observations from the Saints win over the Falcons
1. Davenport ended last game on a great note and started this game the same way with a great sack. 2 sacks, 4 tackles (one for a loss) and 2 forced fumbles might be his best statline from a game so far.
2. Trequan Smith with some great blocking again early in the game. I never heard was his injury was that made him miss some time in the middle of the game. 3. Taysom Hill is simply an amazing athlete. 4. Shy Tuttle with the play of the game. Great to pick the ball and the stiffarm to Ryans face was just icing on top. 5. Eli Apple has been pretty good so far this season but today he looked like Ken Crawley. Bad technique and never getting his head around to locate the ball. 6. Offence as a whole looked stale today but the running game felt especially anemic. Kamara's statline looks good but thats about it. 7. Drops! Thomas dropped one, Kamara dropped one, Cook dropped two and unsurprisingly Ginn dropped another one. Two of those drops should have been TDs. We can't have stuff like that against the 49ers. 8. Our run D was very stout again. Some yards to find on the outside but the middle was clogged. The hit by Alonso was a thing of Beauty. 9. Brees looked good again but he didn't get much help from the pass catchers. 10. Cameron Jordan! What a STUD. His 13,5 sacks, as it stands right now, is a career best for a season. |
W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.
