Best records win out, including head to head matchups. Rivalries remain and new ones develop. And the schedule could be more interesting since it all likelihood, the teams don't play each other twice... unless they meet in the playoffs.
I think that would take the fun out of it.

Someone somewhere will spend more time on the road and God forbid it's Dallas!

Re: NFL Divisions Need Realignment

Just change the name of the divisions if everyone is hung up on geography.
Does the distance in the Dallas-Wash and Dallas-Phil rivalries hurt the rivalry? No.
Are Dallas and Houston big rivals for us? Does Atl care about the four teams closer to them than us?
It ain't broke, so...

Like everyone has mostly stated, the NFC east rivals are too big. Especially since that the division is the only one in which all teams have at least 1 SB.

Re: NFL Divisions Need Realignment

Three teams will be moving making locale division reassignment premature:
  • Raiders are already scheduled to move to Las Vegas

  • Chargers are in an untenable stadium situation in Los Angeles

  • Jaguars are rumoured as the London relocation candidate

I just stop the AFC and NFC playing each other in the season. 16 teams per conference, 16 conference games. Best 6 records make the playoffs. Play one year at home, next on the road. If you want to separate into divisions fine

**** Florida has too many teams anyway. Just eliminate Tampa altogether and use the stadium as a garbage dump.
I do like the idea but it makes too much sense .
Dude, Tampa Bay Bucs have the No. 12 television Market in the country!

New Orleans is only 50th, and overall the smallest...

Green Bay's market is smaller than New Orleans, but Milwaukee-Green Bay, their actual TV market, is No. 20...

But I do like the idea of moving Miami to the AFC South, moving the Colts to the AFC North, and the Ravens to the AFC East; only rivalry affected is the Steelers-Ravens, but there's still Steelers-Browns, so no biggie...

Always thought Dallas should've been moved the the NFC South with Carolina taking its spot in the NFC East, but NFL didn't want to lose the Cowboys-Redskins rivalry, but that is practically dead now...

Speaking of, The Best Rivalries in the NFL:

  • Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers

  • New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons

  • San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams

  • Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants

  • New England Patriots vs New York Jets

  • Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cleveland Browns

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

I really hope they don’t put a team overseas.
