with preseason right around the corner, there are those who feel if ab goes down we're screwed.

all i'm asking for is opinions......and your own scenario........
if ab goes down chances are bouman takes the helm provided he makes the cut. the way coaches talk about how he knows the play book leads me to believe he'll be here and kingsbury is the odd qb out unless they keep 4. i believe amac is quaranteed a spot regardless.......but, just my opinion.............
so, we have bouman starting and again, who would'nt think the season was all but lost?
maybe 1/2 way thru it (and this is saying ab is gone for the season)
bouman has us at .500 with a lot of help from a standout performance by the defense......
should we stick with him or give amac a shot?
i would be for giving him a chance seeing that we may end up a .500 team again anyway.........and while we won't know where amac is at the .500 mark 1/2 way into the season, if, and i say if he had any understanding as to what he was doing, would'nt it be best to get him some valuable experience? your turn...................smitty

I hear Bouman isn't doing too well in camp. Personally I wouldn't be blown away if we didn't start with AB, Kingsbury, and AMac, and if something happened to Brooks I wouldn't mind seeing what AMac can do. Much as it burns me, Whodat it right. AB's cap number is a monster next year. We need to see what Amac can do.

Call me stupid(which I'm sure some of you will), but I'd like the Saints to keep AB, McPherson, and Kingsbury. Kingsbury was a bad mo fo in college. Bouman is wasting money. Tee off.

RE: let

A-Mac will get a roster spot. The choice will be between Bouman and Kingsbury. KK will probably lose out on experience and the likihood that he wont get picked up by another team as quickly so he could be a fall-back option.

We may be screwed anyway, but if AB goes down we're really screwed unless Bouman can find some touch. I wouldn't start A-Mac unless it is plain he would do better than Bouman or we're pretty sure to not make the playoffs. (I know, that's game one, right?)

I'd love to see A-Mac get some reps if we tank, but I'd rather not watch another tank year.

I honestly feel Aaron Brooks will put up ProBowl numbers... and no, I'm not being sarcastic. He gives us our best chance of winning and if he were to happen to go down, I think our whole season would be in jeopardy. I can see him throwing close to 30 touchdowns this year along with our simplified offense which will limit is mistakes and force him to throw to his checkdowns more... complete 60% of his passes.

RE: let

I watched Kingsbury last camp and I have to tell you I liked his development and attitude. I felt it wouldn't be long before he bumped Bouman. So I stick to that say Bouman gets cut this year.

In all seriousness, we need AB to stay healthy this year because our backup is so bad. Amac will need time even if he is our man in the future. I don't know much about Kingsbury and I have zero confidence in Bouman.

I've been hard on AB, but he's the QB this year and I hope he can prove me wrong. If he gets hurt, we'll be in a rebuilding mode. They will just pack the box and hammer Deuce into submission.

AB drives me nuts, but I'm still pulling for him this year (because I have to). I would like to see Amac unseat him in the future...but that's a pretty uneducated statement since I've never seen the dude take an NFL snap. My perception is that he's AB on steroids....who knows.
