Ways to get a Bye... Packers@Vikings most important game
By far the most important non-Saints game on the schedule for us. Not only influences our chances of getting the 2 seed, but also the 1 seed. Without the Vikings beating the Packers, even if the Seahawks win the division, we don't get in over the Seahawks cause it would be a 3 way tie and head to head doesn't matter. We'd be the odd team out. Vikings really need to beat the Packers... there is another way for us to get a bye, but it'd require some real luck.
Here are all the Scenarios that give us a bye(assuming we win out): 1.)Packers lose to either Vikings or Lions. 49ers wins out. 49ers would be the 1 seed. Saints would be the 2 seed. 2)Packers lose to either Vikings or Lions. Seahawks win out. Saints would be the 1 seed. Seahawks would be the 2 seed. 3.)Packers lose to either Vikings or Lions. Seahawks lose to Cardinals. 49ers lose to Rams. Seahawks defeat 49ers. Saints would be the 1 seed. Seahawks would be the 2 seed. 4.) Packers lose to either Vikings or Lions. Seahawks lose to Cardinals. 49ers lose to Rams. 49ers defeat Seahawaks. Saints would be the 1 seed. 49ers would be the 2 seed. 5). Packers lose to either Vikings or Lions. Seahawks defeat Cardinals. 49ers lose to Rams. 49ers defeat Seahawks. Saints would be the 1 seed. Seahawks would be the 2 seed. 6.) Packers lose to either Vikings or Lions. Seahawks lose to Cardinals. 49ers defeat Rams. Seahawks defeat 49ers. Saints would be the 1 seed. Seahawks would be the 2 seed. 7.) Packers win out. 49ers lose to Rams Seahawks beats Cardinals. 49ers beat Seattle. Packers would be 1 seed. Saints would be 2 seed. 8.) Packers win out. 49ers beat Rams. Seahawks lose to Cardinals. Seattle beats 49ers. Packers would be 1 seed. Saints would be the 2 seed. 9.)Packers win out. 49ers lose to Rams. Seahawks lose to Cardinals. Packers would be the 1 seed. Saints would be the 2 seed. Scenarios if we lose a game: 10) If Saints lose to the Titans, but defeat the Panthers. GB loses to the Vikings or Lions. Seahawks win out or 49ers defeat Seahawks, Saints get the 2 seed. 11.) If in scenario 10 Seattle instead loses to Cardinals and defeat the 49ers, Saints get the 1 seed. Most Improbable Scenario of Getting a Bye: 12.) Saints defeat Titans, Lose to Panthers; Vikings defeat Packers, Vikings Lose to Bears; Packers lose to Lions. Seahawks win out or 49ers defeat Seahawks, Saints get 2 seed. 13.)If in scenario 12 Seahawks instead lose to Cardinals and defeat the 49ers, Saints get the 1 seed. If Saints lose to the Panthers,Packers lose to the Viking, Vikings defeat bears , Vikings will get the 2 seed. If Saints lose to the Panthers, Packers defeat Vikings, Packers lose to the Lions. Packers will get the 2 seed. Correct me if anything is wrong here. Packers losing would automatically move us into one of the top 2 seeds. The alternate route is a 2 step process. And requires the 49ers and Seahawks to each lose 1 game. |
