2020 Schedule

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; geez...Dec 20 and 25th? with KC and Minny....that sucks. Guess they are making us truly earn it this year. Ratings will be high at least this season with the Brady, Rodgers(possible last season with GB?) and Mahomes Games....

Re: 2020 Schedule

The schedule makes perfect sense.

From the leagues perspective.
- This is a strange year and they need to get fans engaged early.
- Pushing the most viewed games to the end of the season will stack high viewership games on top of high viewership games and thats not a maximization of revenue.
- Moving high viewership games to the front of the season moves revenue forward and makes for better cashflow at the start of the season.
- They did eliminate out of country games and that may or may not have had an impact on scheduling.
- Moving high viewership games up in a year when everyone's revenues are down could help to pressure the season to start when it should. Everyone needs revenue and if there will be fan attendance this will help cities, channels, etc...

From the teams perspective:
- We have proven to be a lot more beat up than most at the end of the season, I would prefer divisional games scattered out so that more than one may not be affected by a key injury.
- Makes late season games more of an option to rest starters before going into the post season.

Overall it makes for a better product. We talk about what games are important before the season starts then have to remind ourselves every week that all games are equally important. I think we sometimes rationalize false superstitions.

Re: 2020 Schedule

No team should have to play more than two road games in a row...

Once again, Dallas, San Fran, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore get favorable traveling schedules...

3 road games in a row late in the season is easy? And it will be cold.

Not to mention after that stretch of games, Chiefs and Pat Mahomes come to the dome.

That's not an easy schedule by any means.

It won’t be that cold in Denver or Philly that time of year and neither of those teams are very good.
