Don't play dumb, to try to make some point. You're smart enough to know that someone saying "I hope he goes on IR" means I hope he gets injured, or IS injured enough so he won't be out there.

Know how I made that "brilliant" deduction? Because IR stands for injured reserve. How else to you end up on IR? No one was answering your question, because it frankly didn't warrant a response. But since you kept asking, here's your answer.

You are correct in a sense, but wanting this injury to be so that he gets put on IR and does not recover has the same feeling for me. So, where he didn't actually wish the injury, not wanting someone to recover, for me anyway, is tantamount to the same thing in that he wants him to remaining injured. Still a dick move in my opinion, but as I have said, one that he is entitled to make.

People clamoring for Bobby to be fired because of this are the result of the "Everybody gets a trophy" mentality.

Grow a pair. Somebody said something you didn't like. So what?

It's got nothing to do with whether Bobby sucks or not. Bobby has an opinion and he's paid to broadcast it. If you don't like it there are lots of options. Change the damn channel.

Calling for him to be fired is a little extreme, but it seems like some folks in here think that not being an a** is the same thing as being politically correct. It's actually really annoying, and almost as bad as political correctness, itself, when people defend other's to the death over saying something stupid, because "that's his right". Not everything is a political matter.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But when your opinion is stupid, people should have the balls to say it's stupid, instead of making excuses for him. Wishing someone would go to IR? Really? There's being edgy, and then there's just being classless.

And that's just how I was raised. I'm a conservative, raised by conservative parents. Rest assured, we aren't PC kind of people. But when I was growing up, if I had sad "I hope so and so goes to IR", my dad would have lit into me about not wishing harm on others. I don't know where this mentality comes from that it's cool to just say stuff, no matter how stupid it is.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: Bobby Hebert said he hopes Eli Apple goes to IR

Bobby took monster hits back in the day. Gerry Glanville said he was the toughest QB he ever seen. He said he would dial up sick hits on him and everytime, Bobby would get up.

Bobby is from another era. Is it messed up wishing someone to IR...today, yeah it is but that is Bobby. He's old school, the days when a DE could slap a QB in the head at full blast and it was not frowned upon. I'll cut him some slack.

Apple though is a severe liability. Not sure what happened but something is wrong. Reminds me of Alex Molden at this point. It's a problem.

Re: Bobby Hebert said he hopes Eli Apple goes to IR

People on both sides can think their own thoughts and have their own opinion. Lots of channels out there to listen too, if you don't like it don't listen to his show. Bobby has his own mind as well. Was it a crappy thing to say, not to him obviously or he did it for attention, either way he said it. You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. Move along, nothing to see here. Wishing harm on someone for wishing harm on someone, does anyone see the irony in this?

Apple went through the "Crawley experience" of innitially ballin' out and then regressing to a hobbled PI machine.

I wonder if they are just other fine examples of the Saints' injury treatment in the vein of Breux.

This is the place Major and I had arrived through Black & Gold posted discussion...

Couldn't understand how Eli could ball out and suddenly becomes a liability and Major recognized and pointed to the injury Apple sustained during the Chicago contest...

I was thinking the exact same thing. You are much more articulate though. Or is the other question? Could it be scheme related?
