this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; It is not a call-out culture. It isn't a matter of voicing his opinion, it is what is right and wrong. I frankly do not care about drunk Hebert's opinion because his play as a QB for us sucked badly ...

Re: Bobby Hebert said he hopes Eli Apple goes to IR
It is not a call-out culture. It isn't a matter of voicing his opinion, it is what is right and wrong. I frankly do not care about drunk Hebert's opinion because his play as a QB for us sucked badly and he killed us against the Eagles.
But, when a radio announcer accuses Marcus Williams of taking a bribe after the Vikings game and much more than just that - I was disgusted and he definitely should have been fired for that drunken rampage. And hoping one of our current Saints players is hurt is absolutely stupid and wrong. Don't let him try to change what he said - he tried to save face later because he knew what he said was wrong. |

Two, If we do not allow redemption, then we should all be cancelled upon our first sin and we'd have nothing to live for other than daily mundane life... Third, he's not mandatory listening. I Don't listen to his show regularly, I Don't agree with what much of what he says, but I'll defend his right to say it... Lastly, I laughed it off and appreciate that at least he's got the cajones to say it - something very rare in public figures today, save one... I for one am pulling for Eli Apple, even msg his Mom via Twitter with a Prayer for his Healing from the BCP, and for Eli to become even stronger, be a difference maker in our winning the Superbowl... But if I have a choice of Deshazier-style/Bensel-approved press releases, or Hebert-gut takes, I'll take the later, even if I disagree, criticize Hebert's wrong-take opinion(s)... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

We're all disappointed in Apple's play, but wishing a guy would go on IR is below the belt. How about just saying the team should release him? Not that the Saints can really afford to do that at this point in the season, but it's better than hoping a guy is hurt bad enough to go on IR. Bobby has every right to be critical of players, and it's great that he voices his opinion. Most of us are the same way. But it's not ok, or funny to say what he said. It's a cheap shot, and it's something angry teenagers say. Someone who's being PAID to talk, not just a random guy you're talking to on the street, should be more professional and mature than that. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
