The NFL playoffs are here and the Saints are ready to host yet again.

The Minnesota Vikings head to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Sunday for the Wild Card round of the NFC playoff bracket. The Saints (13-3) lost the tiebreakers to both the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers, who earned the top two seeds and first-round byes despite finishing with the same record.

It's the first playoff game in the Superdome since the infamous no-call game in the NFC Championship last season. The Vikings (10-6) are the NFC's lowest seed, but carry some playoff demons of their own. The Saints-Vikings matchup in the Divisional Round of the 2017 season ended with a stunning touchdown to Stefon Diggs as time expired to give the Vikings the win. Minnesota has a new quarterback since that game, with Kirk Cousins taking over for Case Keenum the past two seasons. The last time they met was Week 8 of the 2018 season, a game the Saints won 30-20 in Minneapolis.

Never know what can happen week to week and Vikings are healthier than they have been. That said, we are playing really good football right now and cant you see what a difference our offense looks like when our oline is healthy? Peat has looked really good since returning. I think we are going to win and it could be 38-24 with vikings scoring a late meaningless touchdown.

Did anyone here the smack talk about Minnesota blowing the game against the packers to make it possible to play the saints in a cozy dome instead of possibly playing in Green Bay or Seattle / San Fran . That game really looked pathetic on both sides if u ask me though.

Since I live in Vikings country, I've seen and heard more of them than most and here are some quick notes going into the game ...

- Their defensive line is a bit like ours in that the no-name defensive linemen come in and play well. Cannot drop our guard when Hunter rotates out.
- Rookie WR Visi Johnson did a nice job filling in when Thielen is out. And Thielen is unlikely to be full-strength. Don't underestimate Johnson.
- Could benefit us to lure the Vikings into a shootout. They have weapons and Cousins is fine if he's on a hot streak, but their o-line can't pass protect well enough to play that way.
- Dalvin Cook is similar to Kamara. Need to defend him similarly and cannot let him get in a groove.
- Their secondary and linebackers have decent speed. Just need to move the chains and wear the defense down, big plays aren't necessary.
