Re: Observations from Saints loss to the Vilings

The interior O-line is weak. I didn't realize that losing Max Unger to retirement would hurt so much. McCoy is good but he's not seasoned and the inside got little to no push. My twin brother reminded me that I called Peat the Pillsbury doughboy at camp when he showed up out of shape and soft. He never got tough enough in the trenches to suit me. Peat is on his seat more than his feet. We must draft a lineman early and bring another top tier free agent to compete for playing time. Our depth must be better. We can do it. Just keep investing 1st and 2nd round picks in the O-line and give Drew a few more years or his successor time.

The D-line looks good with Onyamata, Cam, Tuttle, Edwards, Davenport, and T-Rex. That's a pretty good core of players. Rankins might be looking at more money than we will offer considering what we have in house.

You win in the trenches and that's where injury took it's toll on us this year. We had good depth but two of our starters were questionable between Peat and Warford. When we signed Warford there was another free agent available who cost more. I wanted him. I've herd he's doing well.
