Alvin Kamara
Curious to hear if you all think he should be resigned knowing it won't come cheap.
Unless it comes out that he was playing half the year injured, I vote to let him walk. Take that money and address other needs like WR EDIT: FA in 2021. |
Re: Alvin Kamara 2020 UFA
Let him walk. He could not produce this season.
Prove me wrong. Taysom Hill broke more tackles than Kamara did this season. |

Alvin Kamara is UFA in 2021.
|
Re: Alvin Kamara 2020 UFA
Let him prove something next year, if he looks the same then send him on his way.

Re: Alvin Kamara
Prove it, contract year. And it might not hurt at all to make a stealthy choice and draft a RB at mid or later rounds that's good enough to join the Kamara/Murray committee.
|
Re: Alvin Kamara
I really liked Kamara.
But now I would let him go. He does not give us the confidewnce that he will be delivering. |
Re: Alvin Kamara
I think the confusion stems from Kamara being eligible for a contract extension now; giving him the ability to hold out if he chooses.

Re: Alvin Kamara
Now that the season’s over I’m really curious if we’ll learn more about what’s been ailing Kamara this year. His sister alluded to the injuries after the game:

Re: Alvin Kamara
So trade Kamara for Jeaux Burreaux?
|
Re: Alvin Kamara
He’s been too good until he got injured to give up on him. He will come roaring back. Conversation for another time.

Re: Alvin Kamara
Upgrade our guards. Use our #2 RB more often. Scheme better.

Re: Alvin Kamara
Trade him before the draft
You should still be able to get a 1st and high/mid round pick for him. DO NOT PAY A RB Especially a RB that cannnot carry 30 times a game and stay healthy and explosive for 30 times a game. Kamara is a great player, a great offensive assest. He isnt Adrian Peterson. Spend the money you would pay him on a top CB or second WR. Draft linemen and START RUNNING THE DAMN BALL |

I don't think anyone would be silly enough to trade a 1st for Kamara when you've got some serious HB depth in the draft this year. |
Re: Alvin Kamara
I believe Kamara has been injured most of the year
Give him another chance. |
Re: Alvin Kamara
Never say never in this business but I don't see Sean Payton trading Alvin Kamara.
|
Re: Alvin Kamara
There’s no doubt the guy were injured for a while But if he wasn’t injured in the last 4 games? And made a business decision then what . I know what. Payton knows what.

Re: Alvin Kamara
My belief is AK will be traded during the draft. I doubt the Saints would get a 1st round pick for him, but I can see the Saints using him to move up a few spots in the 1st round and gaining an additional pick or 2 later in the draft. I am predicting this because I do not think AK will play in 2020 under his current contract terms, and I do not believe the Saints will pay 15+ mil per season, which should be his approximate market value.
|
Re: Alvin Kamara
Let him play under his contract in 2020. If he has a great year and shows he is special than sign him to a 15m per year deal.
RBs are not worth much in this league. It's all about scheme and O-line. Although, if AK holds out this year, cut him (if the dead money makes sense) or let him hold out and walk in 2021. Edit: There is no doubt AK was making business decisions this year. Even in the playoffs the guy was running out of bounds instead of fighting for yards on 3rd down. If he is doing that during such a critical time, he will be worthless once he signs a big deal. |

Re: Alvin Kamara
I think when it's all said and done he won't be traded, but there is that small possibility this is another Brandin Cooks situation. Cooke wasn't happy with his role but the Saints also made the deal in part because he was due a substantial pay raise the next year.

Re: Alvin Kamara
The vast majority of you know more about football than I could ever learn yet it blows my mind that some of you otherwise rational and intelligent people don’t account for the fact he got injured early in the preseason.
He didn’t just all of a sudden start to suck or decide not to give 100%. Dude was hurt all year and still broke 1000 yds. Letting him go based on this year would be a mistake. |
Re: Alvin Kamara
Wouldn't be surprised to see Kamara hold out for a new contract this off season.
