This is my point. Even without the deep ball Brees can still be really good to great with intermediate routes. If Payton want upgrade at those particular positions on the O it want matter if Brees stays or not. If he does and can actually stick to running the ball we'll be hard to control on the O side. Most people on here agree about Brees losing the deep ball. But he can still be one of the best game managers in the game if Payton gives up his quick strike thinking. If not Brees needs to really think about his future in a Saints uniform.

I want Brees back if The N.O.Saints still play in the N.O Superdome and if SeanP and his staff are still here.
Just let him retire here.

Sometimes we have knee jerk ideas that we should hear read back to ourselves in a different wording.

We have people that want to get rid of statistically the most accurate passer in the league for 0.02% of his throws.

Assuming a best possible case scenario I used Dak Prescott as he has the most 40+ yard passes at 16 which is 0.02% of his passes.

Less than 1 pass per game is why we want to replace our QB... let that sink in.

They want to get rid of a QB for an interception, the same QB that has the best TD/Int ratio for the season.

It's not the 40 yard bombs that we need, it's efficiency for passes that are 20+ yards out.

You can see through the charts here https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/...rees/BRE229498 that Drew really struggled this year to get the ball down the field. I wish they broke it down to passes of 15+ yards, because if you look at the game charts you can see once he hits the 15+ yard mark it goes to ****.

In the 2019 total chart it's easy to see the deficiency, and although it shows some success throwing to the right and deep, he only had a few passes thrown that way all year (numbers are skewed).

What the chart shows is passer rating compared to the rest of the league. Not arm strength or ability.

What it shows:

• Drew's passer rating from 10-20 yards between 124-140 and the league average in that same area 78-91.

• It shows that beyond 20 yards on the right side of the field he has a 140 passer rating with a league average of 78

It does not show which receiver is dropping passes in what zone...

Play around that site and you will find more. Like 4 of the 7 fastest sacks in Wild Card Weekend were Minnesota sacking Drew because of our craptastic o-line play.. What option isn't in the glorious "why we lost poll" because we got our ass beat in the trenches and it isn't there because a large majority of fans do not understand more than one position if they truly understand any.

I don't think Taysom has proved enough as a QB but I really HOPE someone doesn't offer him 15 million and force our hand. Luckily he is restricted.

Oh yea they throwing stuff now out there that Carolina will sell the farm to get joe. That new owner is new and might be dumb enough nooooo way 2- #1s, a 2 , and 2 3rd rders life in prison is a better deal. I love the media

How many incumbent QB's playing right now for other teams would you rather have than Brees? How many, and name them?

Lets see who you think, among active NFL QB's is better than Drew.

I'll bet the number is less than 4.

Dont give me all that salary cap blah blah --- I'm not interested, and have never been interested in the money talk. Im into Football, not Accounting.

As a football player, a Quarterback, I think 28 teams wish they had Drew Brees.

Preachin' to this choir, Mike. As Brees stands right now he is still the best QB we have ever had in our history and one of the greatest to have ever played the game.

Fan's have a bad habit of turning something that isn't a strength into a weakness and ignoring the real strengths.

"arm strength" is often cited as an issue.. Well lets bring in JaMarcus Russelland see how people like the trade to arm strength away from decision making.

"tries to force plays".. Alex Smith is good at forcing absolutely nothing. Lets bring him in.

For years fans wanted Drew gone because of interceptions, now they have found something different.. Most fans forget or never knew what it was like to wait for Drew Brees to come to the Saints. :bng:
