this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I like the big slot WR’s in the class like Justin Jefferson and Tyler Johnson. I know we need a Z-receiver but I don’t want to use a first round pick on some of the undersized guys with poorer route ...

I like the big slot WR’s in the class like Justin Jefferson and Tyler Johnson. I know we need a Z-receiver but I don’t want to use a first round pick on some of the undersized guys with poorer route running and questionable hands just because they’re fast.

I think we’re still going to end up pretty one-dimensional at WR because a rookie would take time to learn and carve out a role. That’s why I’m really high on Jefferson because he has some familiarity with our offense and that could make him productive sooner. |

Jefferson was one of the first NFL WR prospects I posted here. Not because of the school but because of his production and ability. He's proven that he can play inside and outside but more importantly ... he can create separation & consistently win in man coverage. Side note - I also like "Viska" Shenault from Colorado. He got good coaching here in High School (De Soto, TX), improved a lot in college and I now see him as a mixture between Taysom/Kamara. I see a "fit" here in NO. Some early comparisons are to Cooper Kupp. |
