Re: Saints would keep all 3 QBs in perfect world, 'yet we don't live in one'
That is going to be a real tough decision. If Hill becomes the QB or even backup QB, much of his current value and contribution is instantly gone. We saw that when Brees was hurt and Hill was the actual backup to Teddy. In my opinion we keep Hill and look for another cheaper option at backup.

Re: Saints would keep all 3 QBs in perfect world, 'yet we don't live in one'
IDK ... just my opinion here.
Brees can win us a lot of games in the regular season but can he get us back to the Super bowl? At 41? 4 years ago I think I may have said of course. Now ... I don't think so anymore . 2011 Brees was a long time ago. The window isn't closed but it's dark as hell outside. In my mind, we need a LIGHTS OUT DEFENSE to compliment a declining, aging QB. Difficult decisions ahead. |

TH is a MUST sign. TB, thanks for stepping in this year. I'm comfortable with Hill full time if Drew gets hurt again. We definitely will sign another QB though to take TB place

This is my thinking too. Let TB walk. He earned his money. Hill is more valuable here than to any other franchise and I don't expect Hill to leave. Bring in another back up QB.

Taysom Hill will let SP run an offensive style that it's been obvious he's always wanted to run. I just truly believe he's the right choice and the direction that I think SP will choose. I think we would have taken Lamar Jackson if there weren't question marks(ones that I still believe exist) about his ability to throw the ball out of the pocket.

Re: Saints would keep all 3 QBs in perfect world, 'yet we don't live in one'
If we step back and take a serious look. Are we enamored by the Swiss Army knife T Hill or the full time QB T Hill? For me it’s the former. I don’t know if I’ve seen enough of him at QB to say let’s go for 16 weeks under center. The few plays he has made at QB were somewhat unique because the defense was mostly keying run and not pass.
I’m not saying he can’t be the guy but if he was truly better than TB at QB why did we have TB as an insurance policy at 7.5M? I just been thinking about this the last few days and while he had a pretty good preseason I just not so sure that he is ready for full time QB and he does so much more for the team...where is he most valuable to us? |

What if we let TB walk and another team with tons of cap space gives T Hill a contract that we can’t afford to match...I think that would be the worst case scenario and would really put us in a bind...of course this is dependent that we move on from Brees.

I truly appreciate what Teddy did for the team in Drew's absence. They need to find a way to trade up for Joe Burrow even if it means trading Teddy and others to get him. However I am not willing to trade Taysom. I'm almost willing to not re-sign Drew if it makes that possible. I love Drew so much but he doesn't know how to win in the post season anymore not even at home.
