I really thought Onyemata was a goner. I can’t help but wonder if this means Rankins is on the trade block now.

David Onyemata - a testament to being available...

Have said for a while that he was the better DT3 than Rankins...

Don't know that this necessarily means Rankins gets traded...

Saints may want to keep the depth, considering, you know?!?

But it definitely checks a big box and takes a need off the Draft Board...

I don't think we should extend Rankins. Had one great year then got hurt. After injury he was average at best. Saints have good depth at tackle position. Disruptor on D-line couldn't hurt but I don't think Rankins is the answer long term.

You had it right all along JP... the front office saw it the same way. The only reason I bring up trading Rankins is because it would free $7+ mil with no dead money. Keeping him would be smart though. A team needs those waves of fresh D-Linemen to keep consistent pressure.

Updated the depth chart on the Roster Outlook Thread, we're just fans and its so much calmer seeing Biggie O anchoring that line now...

...just imagine if your coaching or personnel how much easier that makes your jobs?
