PJ has had some ups/downs but the dude can flat out tackle. In a very limited role, he looked a lot more comfortable at FS. I think it was the Titans game.

JP - on Danztler …. that slow 40 time doesn't concern you a tad? If a quick WR ever gets behind him, game over. He doesn't have closing or recovery speed to go chase him down like a Lattimore can do.

Broken Record alert: Make 'em wear the Helmet, Pads and All - then run the 40s...

Trust the Tape right? Well CD plays fast, well vs some of the elite SEC WRs going in this draft, on a Miss St squad that had talent, but no where near the depth of the alpha predators of the SEC; he plays fast, effective...

Now, will he need to work on somethings? Absolutely. He's no Deion Sanders that comes in and is a shut-down CB; but remember, we're looking for a boundary CB2 with good length to derail intermediate routes...

He's very much in the mould of a Richard Sherman type/style of CB; watch and trust what you see on tape...

That type of player allows our pass rush to get after it as well...

We need a slot cb. I feel we are good on the perimeters with Jenkins and Lattimore. That's why we went after Harris.

Rhodes and Jimmy Smith 2 good perimeter guys are still out there. Jimmy is always hurt . I don't see many slot guys available Logan is solid but looking for 10m I read.

I would try to sign Darby cheap on a 1 year prove it deal he is 26 maybe a change of scenery bodes well for him

So just a quick update on this... we’re still looking at a 3rd round comp pick next year for losing Teddy Bridgewater!

May I suggest taking a look at the current projected depth chart as a road map of sorts to see where we are...
NCB (2) 22 - Chauncey Gardner, 21 - Patrick Robinson
RCB (2) 23 - Marshon Lattimore, 34 - Justin Hardee (RFA 2020)
FS (3) 43 - Marcus A. Williams, 48 - J.T. Gray (ERFA 2020), 33 - Saquan Hampton
SS (2) 27 - Malcolm Jenkins (FA 2020), 31 - Chris Johnson (2020 RFA 2020)
LCB (1) 20 - Janoris Jenkins

Now, We have NCB C.J. Gardner, NCB Patrick Robinson, SS Malcolm Jenkins, that can currently play in the slot per the projected depth chart showing what we currently have under contract for 2020...

Boundary CBs? Lattimore and Jenkins - that's it. Justin Hardee has likely reached his ceiling as a core special teamer though his effort to learn the position has been admirable - but that's all you have under contract...

One year prove it deal with Darby? No Thanks. That POS was involved with two sexual assault allegations with Jameis Winston, offering questionable alibi's. FSU settled on one, NFL Suspended Winston on the other...

Bringing back P.J. Williams makes more sense for these reasons:

  • P.J. knows the system and has game experience at CB2...

  • An effective boundary CB with some good, but inconsistent games...

  • Proven to be a very good slot SB by multiple grading systems...

  • Surprised with versatility by playing FS when Mr. Marcus was injured in-game...

Sign P.J., Extend Marshon Lattimore, Draft a Boundary CB...

Just looking at the numbers, can see a situation where retaining Kamara is not feasible to the salary cap and he nets us a 3rd round pick next season...

I guess we liked what we saw when he was here last season. Great depth piece. Also frees up Gardner-Johnson to just focus on the nickel CB spot.
