Clowney isn't much of a pass rusher, and he isn't worth what he's asking. He wanted 20 mil and didn't get it. Now he says "I'll take 17-18." No thanks. He isn't what we need.

Most development of a rookie is done in-season as he gathers experience and not having rookies come in as fresh reinforcements late in the season is what's contributed to our early exits...

A young, fresh pass rusher, or a nasty young guard, or a quick young linebacker - that could be all the difference in the post-season...

We won in 2009 with a fortunate draft haul in 2006; fast-forward to 2020, a few years out from 2017 draft - it's the success of rookies in roster turnover that metes out success in the postseason...

Got have good rookies...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

You are probably right about his steep salary demands however when JJ Watt went down, Clowney was an absolute dawg. He didn't necessarily get the QB sack, however he is a serious disruptor.

Outside of Cameron Jordan, we don't have that player on the other side.

When the post season rolls around, you better pack pass rushers that can get in the back field quickly. Even mediocre QB's (see w/c game Kurt Cousins ) can slice you up if they have time.

Again, who do you target in Free Agency or are you satisfied with Spence, Granderson, Trey H and often injured Davenport?

Davenort Often injured?

Look at the Pro Football Reference Statistics

Clowney missed 15 games in his first 2 years 4.5 sacks 0 forced fumbles

Davenport missed 6 games in his first 2 years 10.5 sacks 4 forced fumbles

God forbid anything happens (played hurt vs Vikes playoffs) to Cam Jordan in 2020. Guy plays almost every defensive snap.

Davenport is a physical freak but he has to stay healthy.

I like Davenport, but we need more of him on the field. Like everyone mentioned if we lose Jordan or Davenport our pass rush basically goes out the window. We have no interior pressure and that’s my biggest concern. It doesn’t seem like Rankins is going to be what he once was before the injuries, but even if he is, there isn’t anyone else that’s pass rushing from the DT position.

Bottom line we have 2 solid pass rushers, both DEs, if we lose one then the other gets double teamed and our pass rush is gone.

There isn’t much on the free agent market when it comes to DTs so I am hoping one falls to us in the draft.

The Saints are 0-42 when running the ball less than 15 times in a game.

One thing I'd like about bringing in Clay Matthews is what he could teach young players Trey Hendrickson, Alex Anzalone, Kaden Ellis, among others...

A.J. Epenesa would be that insurance policy, if he falls to us...

The fact that none of these guys signed yet suggests they're asking too much guaranteed money or there A.J. may not fall to us as an option in the draft...

I think the Jags may eventually trade Yannick Ngakoue.

Last I read they were open to offers on Leonard Fournette as well.
