This is exactly what I have been preaching about over the past several months. The cap is going to SKYROCKET under the new CBA with the combination of the increased player percentages and the addition of all of the new revenue sources. All of this talk about salary limitations is totally uninformed.

I stated a couple of weeks ago that the cap will reach the area of $300 million by 2025 and I am even more sure that will happen ... and beyond.

Do not worry about what we pay anyone and let Loomis keep "kicking the can".

But are we allowed to back-end contracts before the cap is known for future seasons? In other words, will the Commish approve contracts for future seasons above the current cap?

Yes. We've been doing that for years. And, besides, those later years for the most part haven't been guaranteed anyway. Teams are over future caps all the time because there is no such thing as a future cap. That's why several teams are forced to cut contracts every year to get under the current year's cap.

It just seemed the League Office didn't approve a couple of contracts a couple of times because it would have put us over the cap in future seasons...

They had to have been denied for another reason. Nick Easton's contract was rejected at first but not sure of the reason. I read where it might have been a cap issue in that year or just a "language" issue. Two years ago Jayrone Elliott and Josh Huff had contracts rejected for us but they had issues with the roster limit. I've read that certain incentives can cause contracts to be rejected. That makes sense since you can "incentivize" pretty much anything thus leading to foggy language.
