Even though Arians is supposedly the "QB Whisperer", I admit I'm intrigued what SP could do with him.
See, my take is the complete opposite; Winston's numbers are in garbage time, once he's thrown the game away, when there's no mental pressure; he lacks mental toughness; just don't see the reward...

A backup is a guy who can, at the least, come in a short period, don't make mistakes, and keep the offense moving; that's what Bridgewater gave us - that and we're getting a compensatory third round pick back...

And then there's the issue that Payton has already declared Taysom the No. 2 now; so why tie up money in Winston when we can possibly address other positions (i.e. RB, CB) or even start extending people now?

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

I think it's strictly a maturity thing. He proved he has mental toughness in leading FSU to a national championship in the final 90 seconds of the game. He also took home the MVP.

He's also proven his inability to lead men. He can possibly grow into that (I've seen it happen) so that's why I'm intrigued by him - AS a #3 QB.

And we all know that while Taysom is technically the #2 QB on roster, his value is all over the field and therefore subject to the wear and tear a typical backup isn't.

So I'd like to have another arm.

I'd definitely agree with ya right 'dere...

Keep an eye on FIU's James Morgan and on San Jose St Josh Love (not Jordan)...

Speaking of QB's .... veteran QB's.

Keep a lazy eye on these names as a possible "back up" to #9 in 2020 ...

Andy Dalton
Jacoby Brissette
Cam Newton
Jameis Winston

I'd like to have another arm too. Preferably not one that's attached to finger licking good fingers.

I appreciate your views but I just don't see any saving grace for him. Personally, I don't believe he has the smarts to be an NFL QB.

He’s actually extremely intelligent when it comes to football. He’s just shown a propensity to make poor decisions off the field and it reflects in his on field play. Like bruh said, it’s a maturity issue.
