Chiefs/Ravens ... toss up right there however I do believe the Niners will win it all.
Side note - Spaggs has surprisingly (at least for me) gotten that D to play some respectable football. |

You know, the more I think about it, despite the regional rivalry, DeShaun Watson has showed time and again, like J.J. Watt that he's a class act...
Still remember Watson giving up a game check to three cafeteria workers wiped out by H. Harvey; wouldn't bother me if DeShaun and J.J. picked up rings... |

He came in and tried to change the culture we had in the locker room that was from Gregg Williams. As much as this fan base loves and worships GW, he didn't really build us a great defense. Most of the 2009 squad relied on veteran leadership (Fujita, Shanle, Vilma) and Darren Sharper, who would probably be a HoFer today if he wasn't responsible for horrible crimes. Most of the guys GW drafted, really didn't do much outside of Cam Jordan and Gallette who turned out to be a major locker room cancer. The team mutinied and gave up on Spags. This was consistent with reports coming out of them not being happy in the locker room. They suddenly had a coach who wanted to install discipline on the defense, change scheme and also change the culture of the locker room. That bothered them. Payton responded by hiring a clone of Gregg Williams in Rob Ryan who wanted to be their friend and let them do whatever they want. This had disastrous results. In a way, this has been our problem on defense in recent years too. Payton brought in Dennis Allen, who should've been fired after 2016 when he fielded back to back historically bad defenses. In 2 of our last 3 playoff exits, Allen's defense has been torched. I still hold by my opinion that I REALLY wanted Wade Phillips in 2016 and would still take him. He got his career start here in New Orleans under his father Bum, and Wade's defenses in L.A. may have been disappointing but they had their moments. He'd be an upgrade over Allen regardless. Not to get off subject, but 2012 to me is the most wasted Saints season in the Payton/Brees era. Fans talk about 2011 but we were beating up on cupcake teams that year and running up scores and padding the stats. At the end of 2011, I felt like next year was going to be our year to make it back. We went on to average 28.5 points a game in 2012 and the offense was still rolling hot. The problem was defense being historically bad and I don't think even with Payton that year we finish better than 7-9. They lost a number of close games they should've won if not for some boneheaded, situational football decisions. |

I've never hated the Packers and I don't think we even have close to a rivalry at all with them. I don't like Aaron Rodgers cause he's a douche, but Green Bay has been one of the most interesting teams in NFL history. Researching them over the years has been a lot of fun. I really don't understand why a lot of Saints fans hate the Pats. Most of this fan base lives in La La Land with conspiracy theories and crap about Goodell. Go talk to Pats fans, hell I spend most of my time on their forums. They've calmed down incredibly over the past few years, but after the silly "Deflategate" nonsense, they sounded just like us with the Goodell stuff. Only difference is, they'll actually criticize Brady for playing poorly in a big game, or Bill B having a few bad years as GM (Many of their fans right now are upset that he put together a weak supporting cast on offense). That's something a lot of us won't do, as we opt out for blaming refs, Goodell and saying we got robbed. New England has stopped most of our rivals from winning SBs - Rams twice, Panthers and Falcons. For that alone, I don't mind them much. When they came back from the 28-3 deficit to stop the Falcons from hoisting a Lombardi, that was enough for me. |

Re: I want one of the AFC teams to win the Super Bowl
Green Bay and Kansas City are two "SMALL MARKET" teams!!!
EGGSPURTS know the NFL won't stand for that!!! After all they were the very same two teams in Super Bowl I!!!! Green Bay won the first two, that's why no one pays attention to the game today!!! |
