At the start of 2019, we were saying that we just needed to be "middle of the road" on D. Well we finished #11 on defense and the offense craps the bed. I guess next season we'll need to finish top 5 on D to get it done. I've run out of excuses for the Saints not being able to close. |

talent is there, but it seems Dennis Allen has a habit of having a defense that goes to sleep at times. Just to make a point, in 3 playoff losses over last 3 years, we have allowed average to below average offenses score well above what they normally do. Vikings scoring 26 should never happen, 49ers kept them at 10. Rams scored 26, Patriots kept them to 3 in the SB, Rams offense went bad after Chicago, they havent been much better off this year hence why they missed the playoffs. Vikings in 2017 scored 25+ (was it 29?) Eagles the next week kept them I think to 7. bottom line is, we dont have a defense in the playoffs and its concerning. |

Our offense takes a dump in the playoffs consistently. Our defense has held every one of the teams you mentioned to their average or below their average scores for the season. Our offense can’t score more than 25 points in the playoffs and fails to give the D a break at all. What do you expect when the offense is turning the ball over and getting constant 3 and outs? When you lose the time of possession it wears a D down, and we usually breakdown in the 4th qtr. For years we wanted just an average defense, now apparently we need the #1 D in the league to win a playoff game... lol |
The Saints are 0-42 when running the ball less than 15 times in a game.
