Good to see him putting his health over the money. Better him walk away with his mind than end up in a wheelchair being spoon fed. A concussion really is bad but multiple concussions over an 8 year period, that's scary.

Andrew Luck
Luke Kuechly Patrick Willis Chris Borland Gronk Mega tron etc ... You'll continue to see more athletes retiring before age 30. The NFL is a violent game and a daily grind. ** EDIT Add Saints Zach Line as of today (1/15/20). |

On the other end of the spectrum are players like Brees and Brady. Both have already accumulated generational wealth, yet continue to wish to play. They are no longer in it for the money. Both play a position, especially under today's rules, that virtually eliminates that "point of permanent damage" that I mentioned earlier. That doesn't mean that they should be expected to agree to some ridiculous "team friendly" deal. They should expect to still receive a fair market value, but are definitely not holding their teams ransom as mentioned elsewhere. |

One would have to wonder if he's been evaluated by numerous doctors and the consensus all believe the trauma to the brain is just too much long term. CTE is a monster. |
