Turley and Hand account for something like $3.6 million and $5.7 million. Releasing Hand, or forcing him to restructure, and trading away Turley brings our cap figure back up to $17 million - more than we started the off-season with.
If you give Horn a Gandy type contract ($10 million signing bonus and $30 million over 6 years) you still have money to sign Tebucky Jones AND Charles Woodson AND all of your draft picks. That\'s without restructuring Wally Williams $4.5 million dollar cap-hit contract. So yes Gator, you pay Horn, becuase he is much more valuable to the future of this team then Wally Williams, Norman Hand, or Kyle Turley. If need be you flat out release those guys (yes even Turley) to free up the money to sign Horn. You won\'t need to, but if push came to shove you should. The Saints have the potential to deal Turley and restructure Hand and Williams, thus keeping both of those players and DOUBLE their cap position right now. And you\'re telling me that we shouldn\'t sign Horn b/c it hurts our chances of getting other free agents? If you want something to scream about Gator, scream about the fact that they haven\'t done anything with Hand or Williams yet. That is FAR more ridiculous than the idea of paying Horn top 5 receiver money. |

Gator you are one cheap-ass!
In my opinion Horn deserves a five year deal worth top 10 receiver money. Worry about restructuring it or trading him in three or four years. |
