We took away the Colts soul.

2009 was full of special players and the defense was filled with chain snatchers. Takeaways every single week.

It pains me to say this but that 2009 Defense wasn't very good and the majority of its success as well as the Super Bowl trip is because of Darren Sharper.

2009 Defense
20th points per game
25th Yards allowed
13th Sacks
13th Forced Fumbles
14th 3rd down%

Darren Sharper 9 Interceptions, also lead the team in passes defended with 15
Team was 3rd in total interceptions
1st in TDs off interceptions
1st in yards off interceptions

This is why I hem-haw so much about Apple and the rest plying the ball once it is in the air.

2016 - Byrd 2

Without Sharpers 9 interceptions our defense sinks further down the charts and our Offense doesn't get that 1 extra possession in more than 1/2 the games that season. That is at least a 7 point swing in many games and worth even more than a TD a swing in momentum.
