Smart guy, instinctive, lives at the facilities and has been solid his entire career but those injuries.

Saints need to get younger, faster, stronger.

I can't dissagree with anything and I mean anything you just said, my thinking is he would come cheap and might last in a rotation. Sometimes I will roll the dice.

The Saints love to roll the dice in free agency and have a history of it ( I can see them offering 50MM for 2 years):
Jairus Byrd
Jason David
Heath Shuler

A rotation helps if you are out of shape, not if you are injury prone.

I thought we traded for Heath Schuler? I remember that being one of the first WTF signs from Ditka. Washington was ready to run him out of town and then we came along.
