Drew is the best QB in Football. The posters calling on him to quit have forgotten what its like to have a Billy Joe or a Weurffel at QB, and zero hope.

Historically; the Jets had a QB in Testeverde until he tore his ACL in 1999. They also had a franchise QB in Chad Pennington until the same thing happened, injuries ruined great potential.

As for Payton and Allen in your post, I have long said that Allen is the biggest problem with this team. Payton's play calling with Bridgewater in was completely different before Brees came back. With Bridgewater, he opened up the playbook and got more creative. We actually ran the ball and by the time we got to Chicago, Bridgewater looked like he could run this offense. We seen him throwing deep, and fans seem to have forgotten how impressive he was vs Tampa Bay. When Brees is in, the record chasing is more important. We did that in 2011 when we moved past a balanced run game to chase that stupid 5,000+ yard record.

I don't care about Brees records. I'll flat out say that. The 2011 season we had to pad stats for him to break the Marino passing record (go back to the Vikings game that year. Up by 30, and still throwing the ball in the 4th quarter). He threw 90+ more passes than Marino did in 1984. THAT is why stat nerds didn't respect him breaking the record and still don't. He got the yards but didn't match Marino's TDs that year, and that was with almost 100 more passes. This year, it was a big deal for him to pass Manning for all time TD leader. The reason I don't think these stats are a big deal is cause it's a passing league. Favre didn't hold the all time records for a decade before Manning took them. Is Brees going to hold those records for even a decade? Probably not. But in the end, it's been proven that we worry about those stats and the records when we shouldn't.

We just watched Pat Mahomes win a SB with a worse defense than Brees had in 2011. Payton's playcalling does frustrate me to no end at times. K.C. was down 24 to Houston, 10 to Tennessee and 10 to SF, and didn't give up running the ball even when it looked like they needed to. Payton didn't want to run Murray all year when he was getting the yards and was instead force-feeding Kamara.

I agree that Bridgewater is a proven winner and we would be best to go with him next year.

Brees is 41 years old and we're the only fan base convinced he's still the best QB in football. The best QB just took home a Lombardi and SB MVP honors. There isn't anyone out there besides us who would rather have Brees over Mahomes. I said in another thread, i wish we could've drafted him in 2017 when we almost did. On the other Saints forum, people were calling him a future bust due to him throwing INTs in training camp and preseason of 2018. I don't think anyone is laughing now.

If we have any future, it would at least be a bridge to something with Bridgewater, who proved himself in that 5-0 run.

In advanced stats, Bridgewater was ranked #2 all year, behind Kirk Cousins is in deep ball completion percentage. He could've also escaped some of that pressure getting on Brees in the playoff game vs Minnesota. Everyone blames the o-line, but it don't help when you have a QB who relies entirely on dink and dunk passes. That's pretty much the only reason Brees' completion percentage numbers look so amazing, we rarely threw beyond 15 yards with him this past year.

I don't understand AT ALL how anyone can think of Hill; who will be 32 years old and has never started an NFL game in his career, could be a franchise QB. He struggles with passing in preseason.

And for the guys on here talking about us running an offense like Baltimore with Taysom Hill, LOL, how many playoff games did the invincible juggernaut Ravens win this year? Baltimore was so hyped up. Five Thirty Eight gave them a 47% chance to win the SB - their highest of any team in the past decade. They were humiliated so thoroughly in the playoffs, Neil Paine had to do an entire podcast explaining how it made their ELO ratings look terrible. We heard all year about that "unicorn offense", then they slammed into a brick wall facing a team that stacked the box and forced Jackson to be a pocket passer, proving he couldn't do it.

The Ravens basically were running an offense like Atlanta did when they had Vick and Warrick Dunn. People forget I guess that the Falcons used to run all over teams in those years; Vick and Dunn would rack up yards and make highlight reels of big plays. Those Vick Falcons teams always suffered the same fate. They would run into a team that stacked the box and forced him to pass, and then they would get slaughtered. That's pretty much what the Titans did to Baltimore in the playoffs.

If we want any future, we have to go with Bridgewater for now. I am not convinced we are going with Hill as the starter unless it's a tank job to get Trevor Lawrence, then maybe it'll be worth it.

I think 2 Glove Teddy is a gone pecan this off season.

As far as "tanking" ... we aren't that type of organization. Not on Sean Payton's watch & there's no guarantee Trevor L will be able to transition well at the next level. Huge gamble with QB's taken that early.

I'm not a fan of Lawrence. Unless Payton is hyping up Hill to get a high draft pick I think Bridgewater is the odd man out. I do think Bridgewater is a very good qb and could do well in this system. I would just about bet BB will get him and make us look stupid for letting him go.

Taysom's character leads me to believe that the Saints would have an edge over most teams even if the offer from another team was a little more.

Going un-drafted leaves a mark, getting cut by the Packers and 31 teams not picking you up leaves a mark.. without what Sean Payton has done with him he likely wouldn't get a second look by anyone just like he didn't in the draft or when he was cut by the packers.

All this deep ball talk about Bridgewater is very misleading. His longest pass
was 33 yards and he had a 28 yard pass that went for 42 with YAC.

Taysom will be back next year weather it’s as starting QB they will use a first round tender on him no one will try for him..... Sup who dats been a minute !
