If we slap the second round tender on him some team might be more willing to offer him a deal averaging $7 million per season, for example, knowing they would only be losing a second round pick. We could then only retain him by matching that $7 million or take the second rounder. To me it is a slam dunk using the first round tag. Win/win. And we have FAR more cap available than the current numbers show. |

That's the consensus of the analysts I have heard on the matter. There are too many unknowns for a team to take a chance with their first round pick on Hill. But a second rounder is another story. If we truly want to keep him then the first round tag is the way to go.![]()
