Southlake's (Hartley) finest with the win in OT!!!
The Saints offense had soooo many weapons. Brees was spreading it around like butter. Jimmy, Colston, Pierre, Lance Moore etc. Surgical. But that defense though ... |

Whew....that was tough to watch.
I cant understand it, our D is much better now than it was then, but watching that video was like watching these past few playoff losses. D falls apart when the opposing team has under a minute to drive down the field. Couple things; how did we endure that season? And why was Pierre Thomas not given the ball more? PT23 is up there for me in favourite Saints players. |

That was a classic, back in Brees' prime.
Pierre Thomas is my favorite Saint in that time frame. Did you know he only had three career fumbles between 2009 to 2012? PT was the true jack of all trades RB. He did it all - runs, screens, blocking and was consistent as a receiving threat. |

I remember the second half of the superbowl, Brees checked down to PT and he immediately had 3 defenders there. It should have been a 2 yard loss, yet PT broke those 3 tackles and gained 10 yards whilst eluding another 2 tackles. Truly a special player that wasnt given enough chance to shine. |

Lost in all of the talk about the onside kick and pick six, was that we really were gashing the Colts defense with screens that whole game. It was their #1 weakness. They avoided having to deal with San Diego whom no doubt would've given them a tough game with their RBs and screens. We took it to them. |

Re: Wild West Finish in Dallas! (Saints vs. Cowboys 2012, Week 16)
He is still my all time favorite New Orleans Saints running back.....ever! Kamara could take that moniker but not yet. Yes. Deuce McCallister(2nd beast running back we've had) and Ricky Williams are close but PT could do it all. And he truly was the screen king! No one did it better. His patience and vision was exceptional but when he hit the hole it was like watching poetry in motion as he steadily moved up the field breaking tackles.
He was not a joker player because he could run the ball between the tackles or outside just as effectively. But Sean Payton used him creatively and gave him the opportunity to blossom in his system. And He Did! He understood leverage and how to get low as well as any player I've ever seen(except possibly Kamara). It's a damn shame he got knocked out by Dante Whitner in Frisco or we could have another ring. I wonder what he's doing now? Well. I hope! |
