That's a really good article about our draft history under Payton and his thought process between building the roster and tweaking it. Payton has shown that he will go after the player he feels strongly about. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But mostly he's gotten the right player in the draft since Jeff Ireland came to town.

Did it with Davenport and McKoy.

I see no reason why they won't do it in this year's draft.

All kidding aside the more I read the more I think the Saints will wait until the middle in the draft to get a WR. From what I understand this draft is a little thin at OL and I feel like that may be where they spend their first pick.
Don’t know if I like it but as long as we get a Wr that can make an impact week 1 I’m happy.

with the wr depth in this draft Higgins should be there in rd 2. trade out and get some picks. Higgins would easily be a top 15 pick if this were any other year.
