Now I am going to turn your argument back on you. Mickey Loomis took Drew Brees and not only made him a Pro-Bowl QB but Hall of fame, All Pro, Super Bowl winning QB... Mickey Loomis took Taysom Hill (whom no one wanted) and made him arguably worthy of a first round tender. Shall I continue?:bng:

To the second paragraph, I'm not sure what you're arguing. I never said he couldn't spot or draft talent, just that we tend to let talent go without getting anything in return. I don't know how to say it another way.

You can say it any way you like, none of the possible rewording options will make the desire even remotely logical. You want to take a trip around the world to cross the street.

Why do you expect to get something for something that you do not own or have any legal right to? To say you would sign him to a longer contract to 'get something for him' isn't getting something for him... You will get something for the couple of million you had to pay him for the extra year PLUS a couple more million to pay the new player.

Just let him walk as we have and use the money to get another player.

Do you rent a carpet cleaner for two days so that you can maybe get something back when you return it after the first day?:bng:

Some teams, the Pats were mentioned by another poster, I mentioned Andy Reid, manage to trade a lot of players to get draft picks consistently instead of just letting them play out their contracts and walk.
