Bridgewater to the Panthers

"Bridgewater reportedly agreed to terms with the Panthers for a 3-year, $60-million contract..."

Now if Brady ends up in TB....Oh boy.

Good for 2 Glove Teddy.

We'll see him twice a year. It will be interesting to see how Joe Brady uses his skill set out there with a stud RB.

This makes me think of former Saints who came back and whipped our asses in the past.

We're going to regret bringing back a declining 40 year old QB over the young hot shot.

From reading a few comments on Panthers board, they absolutely hate the QB move with 2 Glove. Oh well ...

You got a mouse in your pocket? We're? Most of us don't have your defeatist attitude. Besides, I haven't seen Bridgewater do anything in his entire career that would classify him as a "hot shot".

Drew could be 140 years old and still be better than TB.

Amazing hypocrisy on display...

“Most of US don’t have your defeatist attitude”.

You just slam the guy for generalization of popular opinion, then proceed to do it yourself.

Pot meet kettle

Did anyone see TB's games? He didn't turn the ball over but other than the Bucs his stats were not all that great? We had a top defense, a defense that decided to stop playing as hard when Brees was back.

Good pickup by the Panthers. I have a gut feeling Rhule could adapt nicely to the pros. I'm not penciling in 2 W's vs the Panthers, I think we could have our hands full.

Re: Bridgewater to the Panthers

Good for TBridgewater.
He came through with leadership, being in the hot seat following Brees, and pulled 5 straight wins.
All I know 5 straight Wins were better than 5 Ls.
If he would have had just one L, fans would have smashed him on the the SD ceiling.
Yeah, that was his job.
Yeah, followed SeanPs system.
Yeah, it was a team? yeah.

Good for Carolina Panthers. Guy works on the field and shuts up off the field How refreshing for CP fans. I never liked whiney, baby , Figgy Cam Newton blaming everyone, his team...just not cool.

NFL is giving TBridgewater some accolades.

CPanthers and Tampa Bay, look for 8-8, 9-7 , or 10-6 season.
Ohoh. Saints, might be 10- 6, 9-7, or 8-8 too.
TB with TBrady, ok, but what else you got? A Greatest qb who needs to retire.
Same goes for TB and CP. What els do you have on the team?

The qb, the hc calls, his system and staff, it is all a match of just the right things clicking.

Come Sept to Dec, we shall see.

I was pretty sure Teddy was not going to stay with us for another year, but I'm not happy with the way this worked out. I respect the crap out of Mickey Loomis, but I have to say I'm disappointed we couldn't work it out that that we got SOMETHING when losing him.
I also know I'm in the minority on this board, but what I saw from Teddy was a guy who was a confidant playoff QB that went 5-0, and got better each game. Myself I'd have preferred he left the division. I'm more concerned about Teddy than Cam, just saying.

So what's our compensatory pick for Teddy... a 3rd? AJ Klein too; we should get one for him.

Re: Bridgewater to the Panthers

Sad day. I hoping Taysom is good enough to replace Drew. I really don’t think Drew will survive a full season and if he does his play will show significant decline. I am hoping that I am wrong but I will hate for him to go out with a bad season. They have to run the ball like San Fran in order to make another playoff run or Taysom going to have take a huge leap in being decisive with the ball. I just can’t see Drew body at the age 40+ withstanding the beating.

Brees at 41 is in better condition than top QB's were 20 years ago at age 30. What you're claiming is the same exact thing people said about him five years ago and they were wrong.

Help me understand your expectations when Loomis has nothing to trade.

You think we should re-sign him so that we can trade him? We should take up 20M in cap space in hopes we can get a 3rd round pick?

Loomis can not get something for nothing and when a player becomes a free agent the team has nothing.

You got something for Teddy, two years as a back up QB and 5 games when Brees was hurt.

My point is Mickey plays the CAP like a fiddle and he's fantastic at squeezing water from stone. Every year you see the reports on how up against the wall we are, yet Mickey always finds a way to make moves and still bring in talent. That being said it seems to me that we usually just let talent leave without getting anything in return. How many probowl starters are on other teams that we just let walk? IMO this is a weakness in Mickey's game.

If they were saying this 5 years ago I would’ve been against it cause it wasn’t nothing to backup up those suggestions. The last two playoffs turnovers are my concerns especially when the Vikings exposed pressuring up the middle would make him ineffective, cause one he is not going to run the ball and two his arm strength is not strong enough to throw over the top.

The Vikings didn't expose that, it's been that way since he was in the league. It's that way with all non-mobil quarterbacks. Same for Brady and Manning. Everybody knows it. It's just that it's not easy to do.

Love Teddy. However, this is a crime against humanity!

Even the GREAT Brett Favre was not allowed to wear that Vikings Purple jersey after Green Bay (and he really wanted to wear PURPLE). He had to become "Brett the Jet" before giving Green Bay his middle finger!

Ok. I am sure Teddy wasn't like the bitter Brett and would never give the middle finger...but he's a Panther. A big puddy kat.
