Trivia: In the last 5 years, what DT has been to the most Pro Bowls in the league?

RE: Buffalo interested in Simon

I like this game... I'll pop in a couple questions of my own.

Trivia: What type of defense does Buffalo run?

Trivia: How old is Glover compared to Simon?

Trivia: Do we know that Glover averages 4.5 million for his 5 year deal?

Trivia: By using simple subtraction, do we know that the difference between 5.1 mil (the franchise tender), and 4.5 mil is only 600k?

Trivia: Since Simon is such a dominant player and the fact Philly is having issues at their DT position, why would the Eagles even consider trading away Simon? (Remember you said dominant players are always kept and built around... yet they are prepared to start a rookie in his position.)

Trivia: Do you know that if Glover is as mediocre as you make him out to be, he would have never made it to the backend of his contract with the money he is making?

Trivia: I'm pretty sure you know this already, but have you ever opened these two links I've given you many times before?

After you answer those questions... here's my input. The fact that Simon is 3 years younger, stronger, and better fits the NT position in the Buffalo... I also would try to trade for Simon. Who wouldn't? So what's your point? Nevermind I can already guess.

Your point is... "Glover sucks and he's still on the bench. Who cares if he has as good or better numbers than every NFL DT out there! Who cares if he's made it to the ProBowl in 5 consecutive years! Those numbers and accomplishments don't mean anything! He's still on the BENCH." Great argument... I've been stomped once again.

Highest paid defensive tackles from last year...

=================
Player Salary
1. Gerard Warren, Cleveland $6.01 million
2. Kevin Carter, Tennessee $5.88
3. La'Roi Glover, Dallas $4.70
4. Orpheus Roye, Cleveland $4.69
5. Bryant Young, San Francisco $4.39 Franchise number $5.13
6. Seth Payne, Houston $4.18
7. Kris Jenkins, Carolina $3.81
8. Jamal Williams, San Diego $3.77
9. Pat Williams, Buffalo $3.63
10. Dewayne Robertson, NY Jets $3.32 Transition number $4.44

Corey Simon - around 1.6 million (remember this is prior to signing his 1 year franchise tender which he still didn't sign) If they do hammer out an extension, the difference btw Glover's and Simon's salaries would be even less.

This is all getting repetitive. If you still don't get the point, re-read the other thread... then read this one again. If you STILL don't understand, I can't help you anymore. Print it out and ask your English teacher or tutor. At least they get paid for their services.

Simon to Saints

Why are we not trying to do a sign and trade for this guy? With the Eagle's McDougle taking the shot to the gut they have to be concerned about their DE position. Simon wants out of Philly and we need a dominant DT. Why not trade Howard and a third rounder to Philly to get our line shored up?

Howard AND a third rounder? Nuh-uh. On the open market, IMO, Howard is worth more.

You're right, it's a popularity contest. Did you know that the coaches and players vote too? I'm not sure you do, b/c that means that for 5 straight years the guys he plays against have found him to be so good as to qualify as one of the best in the league. Yeah, La'Roi Glover is a household name though, who is just getting there on his name. Peyton Manning, Terrell Owens, LaDanian Tomlinson, La'Roi Glover. They go hand-in-hand really.

One question - if it's simply a popularity contest, and La'Roi is average at best, how did he become so popular while playing on bad Saints teams playing in one of the smallest markets? Just wondering. Maybe you can explain that one for me Chach.

I've only pointed that out to him approximately 10-15 times. Trust me, he'll never understand.

I'm not going to do research for him anymore but I'm going to give him a tip. Look up the ProBowl rosters for 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, and 2000. Compares the statistics for each of the defensive tackles yearly who made it to the squads. I already know the results... as should he because I've only posted links for it a gazillion times.

Please! And by the way he could be had from the Cowboys for a small french fry, and something another poster forgot to mention big contracts are made to be renegotiated to suit any teams need since he's not of baller status.
Yea I'm pretty sure he can be had for a french fry. He sucks so bad, he's still on the team and still is being paid millions of dollars to ride the pine. Oh yea did you know (even riding the pine) he's still rated at the of the best defensive tackles in the league? Enjoy yet another link... nevermind it's not like you open them anyways.

As far as the second part of that statement you make... HUH? What does that have to do with anything? *Insert emoticon of head banging against brick wall*
