none of those things matter when 80% of this board talks about how bad AB is either, they're simply excuses. I find it humorous it suddenly matters when the topic is Jake Delhomme, or any QB not named Brooks. |
OK fine. Good point. I'll concede. None of those things matter at all. Delhomme had better numbers in every category last season. Delhomme is the better QB. Ta-da. I like the way you're thinking Danno - keep that up.

QB Aaron Brooks / Saints A base salary of $5.5 million isn’t ridiculous for a quarterback, but Brooks' development seems to have plateaued or, in the eyes of some, completely regressed. Brooks has been enigmatic at best over the last 25 games. Also, WR Jerome Pathon ($2.5 million base) won’t be back in New Orleans at that price. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW...olds022105.htm I suppose we and others are gleaning up the thought of is Brooks worth the cap hit . Some think not ..... |

Assuming Jake is a better QB, and honestly I don't think he is.........it really is of no benefit to the Saints if he IS better, other than the occasional "I told you so" or "we kept the wrong guy" from bitter fans. I don't have anything against Jake, personally..........but dear Lord, I honestly think some of you guys would rather see Carolina beat us twice a year, just so you can blast the Saints' personnel decisions at QB. Some of you, deep down, would rather Jake have a 300+ yard game, with 2 or 3 TDs, and see Aaron throw 2 INTs and have 2 fumbles.....just so you can say SEEE??? SEE??? SEE WHAT I MEAN? Maybe those guys aren't necessarily ROOTING for Carolina.....but if the end result favors Carolina, then I doubt they'll cry in their beer too much. After all...JAKE WILL HAVE WON!!!! If you guys want ANY chance of a successful season this year.........you'd better damn well pray every night that Aaron Brooks takes every snap this year. ADRIAN MCPHEARSON IS NOT THE ANSWER.........at least not this year. And quite frankly, I really don't feel like watching him go through rookie growing pains when we have a PERFECTLY CAPABLE QB at the helm. Saints 31, Carolina 17...........in Game 1. Look for Brooks to have a solid outing. |
hmm, so just cause someone is your qb, you have to like and support them, no matter how much they f%^k up? at the worst possible times? don't think so. yankee fans boo a dynasty team when they aren't playing well, why should we cut fumbles any slack? i could care less if he Gets hUrt. I don't think we are going very far with hiM anyway. he is not indispensiBle, like peOple wanna make it seem. We will run the Ball more anyway, so we Can get it done should he go down. If not, it's not like we are losing a pro bowl qb or something.
i also don't think anyone wants carolina to ever Beat the saInts in any game, it just so happens they usuaLLY do, and jake has been the qb. we already knew the fo sCrewed up the wAy he Rolled against ne in the suPerbowl, wE doN'T nEed caRolina beating us any more to show that. that argument is moot. |

We are doing our part as fans to help Brooks be all he can be by comparing him to Delhomme ...... Can't help it Brooks is an unmotivated slouch , who needs inspiration to win a game in December . Saints hope Brooks keeps “chip on shoulder Aaron Brooks finished the season very strong – both on and off the field. His emotions, which were aroused by constant comparisons to his former backup Jake Delhomme and his successful cousin Michael Vick – were on public display after a final four-game win streak and a very emotional final win over Delhomme and the Panthers. http://www.wwltv.com/sports/jimhende....11cf49d6.html |
For the record Whodi - I got that, and it's damn good. :)
