Depending on spottrac or over the cap, we have between $8 and 9 million available.
We can get a quality starter for that

How much of that needs to be allocated to the rookie 2020 draft class?

Isn't it usually around 4-5M or so?

We have 3.5MM with top 51 and projected draft pool.

Knowing that we’ll likely have an extra 3rd rounder next year tells me we’re probably going to use it to trade up this year.

There's easily another $10M or so that can be "adjusted" in and with the current contracts.

Good point. But then again we could try to stock up on draft picks and let expensive vets walk next year. It seems to be working well for New England. We could also make some trades for some of our depth next year that other teams like and we can replace them with Jeff Irelands draft picks.

If Drew stays another year as well as this year then I could see us going after a player we covet and use multiple draft picks to get the deal done. If this is Drew's last year then I believe that we'll stock up on draft picks for a mini makeover.

When Sean came to town he traded down to get additional draft picks to build his team. Recently they seem to target a player and go get him to fill a few needs or wants. We'll see how he plays this.
