If you attend the games yes. If you watch on TV, well... I generally can't hear the crowd over the ramblings of Buck and Albert....

Will say that the Dome is nowhere near as loud as it was when the Dome Patrol played, with the exception of The Return to The Dome...

I can't speak on the Dome Patrol days however just last year vs the Niners … that was a playoff atmosphere & stupid loud. IIRC Niner o lineman Staley stated they had to go silent count most of their offensive possessions. They couldn't hear s***. We took an L however the fans did their part.

But to answer the question, no football wouldn't be the same without the Who Dat nation.

And like the author stated ... "it's a very distinct home-field advantage".

Dome sweet dome.

I know the dome noise gives us an advantage but the W/L don't speak to that. Other than 2017 its a wash when only looking at home field advantage.

2019 Losses 3Home 1Away
2018 Losses 3Home 1Away
2017 Losses 1Home 5Away
2016 Losses 4Home 5Away
2015 Losses 4Home 5Away

THEN THERE IS THIS:

70.3 percent

Since the start of the 2008 regular season – and including postseason games – the Saints own the fifth-best home-field winning percentage in the NFL at 70.3 percent, according to USA Today. And during the Sean Payton/Drew Brees era, the Saints are as good as anyone playing on their home turf – a perfect 5-0.Jan 9, 2019

Just how good has New Orleans been at home, and why is it so important?
In playoff seasons, the Saints boast a 49-13 (.790 winning percentage) record at home under Sean Payton. In non-playoff seasons, they’re just 24-24 (.500). They’ve gone undefeated twice (2011 and 2013), and their worst record at home while making the playoffs came in 2006 (4-4). They're 18-4 (.818) at the Superdome since 2017 with two more home games left to play

I'm sure that the team gets motivated by our Who Dat fans screaming in the dome. I always played better rugby when there was someone watching. Just sayin'.

The Saints would still be better than the rest of the teams because of our solid program and tightly run organization. Give me crickets chirping if that's all I can hear between snaps. Just give me football!

If you think they are bad try dealing with UK coverage
Jeff Reinebold,Shaun Gayle and the bitterness of Rob Ryan on a weekly basis
