Who will win Friday?

SEATTLE at NEW ORLEANS

Foxsports.com, Aug. 12

The Seahawks look to get off to another strong preseason start when they meet the Saints in the Superdome. New Orleans is a two-point favorite, and the total is 38.

Seattle won its last two preseason openers by a combined score of 41-10, including a 21-3 victory at Green Bay in 2004.

Mike Holmgren plans to play quarterback Matt Hasselbeck the entire first quarter, with Seneca Wallace to follow. Rookie David Greene from Georgia will take the bulk of the snaps in the second half, with Gibran Hamdan possibly seeing action late.

Pro Bowl running back Shaun Alexander is expected to start tonight behind Hasselbeck, but how much he'll play is unknown.

Saints coach Jim Haslett said his starters will go into the second quarter tonight, with quarterback Aaron Brooks playing until midway through the quarter. Todd Bouman will then take over the offense through the end of the third quarter, with Kliff Kinsbury and rookie Adrian McPherson closing things out.

Wide receiver Az Hakim and tight ends Ernie Conwell and Shad Meier are all out with injuries. In addition, wideout Donte Sallworth is also hurting.

The Seahawks are 5-3 SU (4-4 ATS) over the last two summers.

Seattle scored at least 20 points in three of its four exhibition tilts last year.

New Orleans is 1-3 SU and ATS in its last four preseason debuts. The victory came last year at home against the Giants (23-13).

Overall, the Saints have lost three of their last four preseason home games despite being favored in each.

ATS ADVANTAGE: SEATTLE
