Re: Saints Cut G Larry Warford
Last night on WWL, they asked Strief about Warford.
Paraphrasing here but the oline coaches wanted Larry back. He believes this cut has more to do with picking up a free agent. At worst Larry would have been solid depth. Don't rule out the return of Eli Apple (depth/familiarity with the Saints D) or bringing in another veteran LB in case our two injury prone LB's can't stay healthy. To be continued ... |
Re: Saints Cut G Larry Warford
Warford was the 2nd best available guard that year. I wanted the other player(his name escapes me) but we went the cheap route and I was disappointed to get Warford. It sounds funny that he was a three time pro bowler with us and played fairly well his first year. However, since then though he looked sloppy on the field and didn't open holes or stand his ground well.
Honestly, I thought that the Saints would keep him for critical depth on the O-line. But like ya'll said we now have some spending money to flash around at the free agents. |

Apparently the staff loves Jackrabbit keeping him over Apple with such a small sample size. |

I'd prefer another linebacker. After Demario, it gets kind of dicey. I've read that John Lynch is looking to shake up some things on defense out in Niner land. Kwon Alexander is a name that comes up as a possible post June 1st cut. I'd still prefer Everson Griffen (1a) or Alec Olgletree (1b) as a possible FA signing for the Saints. |
