Honestly I am not sure what I would do in Sean Payton's position, if I were my initial inclination would be to focus on my job and not get involved.

But..

Scrolling through social media I can tell that 80% of my players, people that look up to me, are being effected by this issue and every other posting is a molested martin Luther King Jr. quote echoing that "silence is compliance".
His move was tactical and well played given the presumption that saying nothing means he is okay with all of it.

His comment is valid, the only way to change the system is to vote differently. He did not target anyone that he had to deal with locally which is smart, instead he targeted someone that was insignificant in the grand scheme of things but still pointed the finger at the system.

Because it is the system isn't it? There are 1000 +/- civilians shot to death by police every year and assuming human error factor of at least 5% that equates to 50 bad shootings per year. Since 2005 only 35 officers have been convicted for fatal shootings. Police Chiefs cant fire, DA's don't Prosecute, Judges don't convict, and Mayors turn a blind eye. What is the missing factor? Unions Reps are the first thing a cop asks for, they provide counsel and have the power (votes) to pressure the elected officials.

Politicians and the media want you to miss the Forrest for the trees.

Note: I say insignificant because the POTUS is not supposed to be involved in matters of the sate and he need to go in his closet and shut up.

Logic and simplicity seem to work out fine using few words. I did get a good laugh out of your elitist mindset.

Goodbye...
Let me see if I can break down your post: You don't actually have an example of my "ignorance", but you instead believe that I am disrespectful now? And this coming from the person who consistently resorts to personal attacks, while I've done nothing of the sort to you? In other words, if I don't agree with you, I'm disrespectful? And you are not? Interesting.

And I don't type a thousand words to make one point. I said "for every thousand words I type to make my arguments, you offer about five words". That's called a ratio. Ever heard of that? Oops, I guess my "elitism" is showing, huh? Which brings me to my next point. There is nothing "elitist" about stating facts and requesting that my counterpart do the same. The fact that you had to crawfish and make yet another blind accusation, is all anyone on this board needed to see to know what you're about. But then, they already knew this. Meanwhile, myself and others take the time and make the effort to make reasoned points, with context and factual information. Your issue is that if someone goes over your head, they are "elitist". That's pretty sad.

By the way, I didn't make any "accusations" about you. I didn't say anything about you that isn't universally known by anyone who has ever seen your posts, and your attitude.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Here are a few simple and logical words for you. Every non football related thing you post is a dumpster fire full of bull****. As are most of your football related posts honestly. There are a lot of people on here who I disagree with about a lot of things, but I still don't mind talking with them or seeing their posts. Then there's you. The sight of your screen name makes me nauseous in and of itself. Your posts reek of the same elitism you accuse burn of, and you are probably the most mean spirited person on this forum when you disagree with someone. I've seen plenty of people have plenty of disagreements and still remain pretty civil, not so with you. You are everything that's wrong with the world today, and I wish you'd **** off over to saintsreport with the rest of the trolls... Whew, that feels better. Mods, I'm sorry about this, but this guy has made my skin crawl since the day he showed up and I've had it.
LOLOLOL........well I ain't going anywhere chief. I guess it's a younger generational thing of not being able to handle an argument on your own. I really don't care what some random on the internet thinks about me. High school was almost 30 years ago now. That's about the last time I cared what someone thought about me. Everything in your post couldn't be more false. Opinions don't equate to reality. Got to love a personal vendetta against someone you don't know. Oh the irony of calling me a baby. If you don't like my posts, I suggest you use the ignore feature. It's pretty easy to find. I used it last night. I enjoyed the laugh though.

Good day

Good points, Oak. And who's to say that Payton isn't posturing to uber-talented free agent players that might accept playing for a team that offers less money so that he can play for a coach that's on "his side" politically speaking.

Perhaps it's not fair to assume that of Sean Payton but the idea is not unheard of.

Great idea to stay off social media. It really has the worst members of society pushing narratives that divide and even kill people.

I feel that same sense of social lethargy.

Well Drew Brees is now the #1 trending topic on Twitter for comments about not supporting disrespecting the flag or the country and it’s not going well for him at all. Even Michael Thomas had words for him.

A small snippet, of course, taken out of context. Par for the course with social media.

Re: Sean Payton links upcoming election to needed change

I have been pulled over by white policemen for driving through the bad side of town. They drug me out of the car and held me at gunpoint while they searched my car. I have also had a black policeman take up for me. Police shouldn't be disrespected the way that they are. They are doing their job which is to deal with scum on a daily basis. I would be edgy too.

I applied for a position with the Sherriff's office and the room of officers were on the edge of their seat with excitement until I answered the last question honestly and I knew I cut my throat when I answered. They thanked me for my time and left the room. What was the question? What would you have done had you been there for the Rodney King incident? I told them that my job was to protect the public at all costs and that is just what I would do.

Nonetheless, if the police were treated with respect they would probably return the respect. But no, they deal with the lowest element who when they get in trouble scream racism. I'm not a racist and I know plenty of officers who don't see color either.
