Nonetheless, for a team that claims to feed off of its fans, it'll be hard to draw on that strength when players choose divisive ways on social media to resolve differences...

I kind of look at it like this. If we as fans let things these celebrities say and do offend us to the point of it no longer being enjoyable we probably are too heavily invested.
I refuse to let much of anything offend me unless it’s a direct personal attack on me or my family. Life is too short and contrary to popular belief people DO have a choice when it comes to what they allow to offend them. I’m just going to enjoy the season for what it is.
I do agree that there is no way this doesn’t spill into the season as far as players are concerned.

Why do you think "this" will spill over into the season for the players? You do realize we are at least three full months from the beginning of the season. Right? And what is "this"? The silent kneeling protest? So what if it does?

But, do agree about not letting things offend me. Unless it is something directed personally toward my family I have no lingering issue with it. Anything towards me personally I definitely don't care. I am more than secure with my inner peace.

Now what I am upset about is the lack of concern about the threats I have received here in this forum. WillSaints81 threatened to hunt me down and kick my ass. I almost died laughing. Pulled a muscle in my side.

Will, this is jeanpierre, I'm asking nicely, real nice like, Chill-the-f*ck-out, Okay, Bro?

And an apology for the threat would go a long way with me and others here...

Being passionate is okay, but don't let ball-bustin go to yer head...

Thank you, Brother...

PS If you need to PM me or someone else to get something off your chest that's bothering you, that's one of the added benefits, lagniappe, of this online community...

I am extremely chilled out. It's pretty much how I roll.

That was an attempt to lighten things up, JP, bringing up the "threat". It was a bit of a joke on the site when the kid "threatened" me. I saw it as a comedic insert. I ask for no apology because it is the other's problem, not mine.

Or are you wanting an apology for the "threat" by Dewayne from his mom's basement toward the Brees'? LOL! No way that's happening. Oh, wait. Might be the same person?

The fact is that nothing is bothering me tremendously that has to do with the NFL, COVID-19, race relations, ice maker going out on the $3000 refrigerator (okay, lying there), Trump, Biden, BLM, whatever.

What bothers me mostly is coming in here wanting to talk about the team I have latched onto for the past 53 years without the other constant crap.

Here's a hypothetical that should make us all uncomfortable...

What if Alvin Kamara received death threats for comments that didn't fit perceived white people's narrative?

What the hell? Where are you coming up with this? Okay, I'll play.

I would say that it was some dweeb of whatever ethnic origin that was so insecure that he, or she, wanted to start ****. I would expect Kamara, who is very intelligent, to treat the stupid threats exactly the same as Brees.

Move on and ignore idiots. If you believe it more, report to authorities and every one can be traced if real.

So, you mean something like a death threat would offend you? Me too. Probably even Drew.

Nonetheless, I don't think this will carry over into the season. As I've stated before I think this will galvanize the team moving forward.

Death threats are thrown out haphazardly these days with social media. I'm sure Brittney mentioned it in passing. All celebrities get them. It comes with the territory. But, I totally agree this will make them more galvanized. Good term. And no way it carries over into the regular season since it has already become old news today.
