The NFL is working on a Covid-19 protection helmet for the 2020 season. Several players around the league have tested positive for Coronavirus. The nature of America football makes it a contact sport with spit, sweat and touching almost every play. So far the NFL has responded by trying to develop a specialized helmet for this season to prevent spread of infection.
Of course, the first designs posted by Stadium on Twitter have drawbacks. Especially visibility, causing fog of facemask, and ventilation. What do you think about this possible helmet design? |

Re: NFL Covid-19 Helmets?
How many current pro athletes have died from it. I have not heard of one in any sport.

Re: NFL Covid-19 Helmets?
The precautions are more to limit the spread, not as much to protect the individual athletes. However they still don't know how or why it affects some differently than others. My wife's primary care doctor, who is also in our Sunday school class, told her he has had over 70 of his regular patients hospitalized to date because of COVID-19 complications and the worst case of all was an otherwise perfectly healthy 27 year old.

Re: NFL Covid-19 Helmets?
The 27 year old wasn't a pro athlete. No pro athletes have died from it. How are they going to spread it with no exposure to the fans or stadium employees other than refs.

Re: NFL Covid-19 Helmets?
How are several NFL players contracting c19?
Surely they're using their resources to stay as socially distanced as possible? Also, since it's a "contact" sport with spit, sweat, and touching almost every play, are they going to make them wear full-body protective equipment? Why protect the only part of the body that the NFL prohibits players from touching anyway? Are they going to wear them at all times, even on sidelines and in locker rooms? Why don't they just cancel football until a vaccine is developed? |

Re: NFL Covid-19 Helmets?
All this for a virus that the WHO already came out and admitted they overestimated in almost every way. With a bogus death count that is artificially inflated. What a ****in joke.

Re: NFL Covid-19 Helmets?
No. You are misunderstanding. The league's concern is the spread from team personnel to others that the players might come into contact with OUTSIDE of the stadium. If one player, or other team related person, is carrying the virus it can be spread to other players, or team personnel, that could then take it home to family or anyone else they contact. What they are talking about is the players agreeing that until the season is over they have to stay in full lockdown mode with only their immediate family and team personnel.
