Re: NFL cuts 2020 preseason in half
Virtually all of the player evaluation is done in practices. Hardly any takes place during preseason games. At least according to what I've heard from several sources on NFL Radio. Dual practices are far more productive for those purposes, as well. Coaches and players alike would much rather there be more practices and less (or no) games in the preseason. The owners, however, have always been in it for the added revenue.

Reduce pre-seaon, but expand rosters so the Pierre Thomas types have a chance.

Re: NFL cuts 2020 preseason in half
It sounds like they’re going to cut down the number of players in training camp to possibly 75. The NFLPA is pushing for no preseason at all...

Edit: Okay, found it. Just came out via Schefter. It sounds like limiting players at a time at camp to 75 or 80. It implies that with fewer preseason games they basically need fewer camp bodies. That jives with what many have said for years that all but a small handful of players are already locked into the roster when training camp begins. |

Re: NFL cuts 2020 preseason in half
There is no way in hell that the owners would let the revenue from preseason get away from them. Besides we had four games and now we have two. I like that number of preseason games so that I can get a feel for my team.
