Even if Andrew Luck did return to the NFL, I often don't understand the love. He seemed like a great guy sure, but he had 171 touchdowns vs 127 ints / fumbles combined.

Guy was a turnover machine.

To be fair, I'm under the understanding that the Colts had a terrible pass protecting O-line when Luck played, which is why he often took a beating and hence retired early.

We have 2 guys on the roster that I feel can be NFL starters. Barring a trade for someone we know will work out, I think we just let the situation resolve itself and quit thinking about it too much. I think from Payton's vantage point, both guys could be the starter next year. They'll both get a lot more work in training camp than they normally would have with Brees being there. By the start of the season, Payton will have a pretty strong opinion. If neither work out, then there's the draft.
