We have 2 guys on the roster that I feel can be NFL starters. Barring a trade for someone we know will work out, I think we just let the situation resolve itself and quit thinking about it too much. I think from Payton's vantage point, both guys could be the starter next year. They'll both get a lot more work in training camp than they normally would have with Brees being there. By the start of the season, Payton will have a pretty strong opinion. If neither work out, then there's the draft.

I get that, but i have thought before it would be worth seeing if he wanted to come back and seeing if a deal could be done.If he does come back it will be Indy though, didn't Irsay tell him to keep about 20 odd Million he was supposed to return by retiring

Tom Brady factor …
When he walked in the building, players "believed". Certainly there were other factors (key free agent signing, coaching change and a solid draft) but landing Tom, old man Gronk, Fournette (played well) & AB all shined in the brightest moment last night. No disrespect to any QB past or present but Brady is the GOAT. |

I beg to differ. Drew is the GOAT because he's done it all without a supporting cast or defense until his later years. I don't think Brady could have carried the Saints on his back to achieve the same success. He likes to holler, scream, and curse at defensive players or even his own team mates. I don't think Brady could have held the team together like Drew has done during the adverse times.
