Well I’m sure most of you have heard that Big 10 and PAC 12 have canceled football seasons. Not looking good for college football

ACC and SEC are full steam ahead at this point. Don't forget that the PAC 12 and Big 10 are for the most part based in extremely liberal environments that have been criticized for being overly "conservative" when it comes to the virus. The SEC and ACC states are completely the opposite.

That said, I wouldn't mind it at all if they all postponed their seasons. It would mean that much more financial incentive for the NFL to play their full season with Saturday games adding a billion or more in guaranteed revenues. Owners are salivating over the possibilities.

Liberal or not, not playing is the smart option

Tell you one thing... if there was ever a time to trade next year’s 1st round pick for a star player now is the time. Who knows what the heck the draft is going to look like next year with half the conferences not playing.

The players and coaches are saying that they would be safer from the virus with all the testing and protocols in place than they would be at home. They are correct. Far less likely to become infected and/or infect others. Common sense.

I do not agree with their decision. It's defeatism and they made the decision so gallantly, not really thinking about these Big 10 communities and how far reaching the economic results are, the morale hit that is going to be doubly difficult going into winter, with a struggling economy and bad employment numbers. Consider a place like Nebraska, where I used to live, having lost both the College World Series and now apparently the whole Huskers football season. That is a brutal combination of power punches that will have deep effects.

From a Saints standpoint, it hurts us too. Our Ohio State pipeline is broken, until further notice. Not good.

I heard that NFL franchises are basically doubling their college scout staffs and are going to be hitting the film studies big time.
