I guarantee if it was Winston who threw it they would have pointed it out as they have in the past.
I also fail to see how WWL would benefit from reporting negativity . The Saints are their bread and butter. |

It is all a part of the process. Any knowledgeable football fan would understand that. But, beyond that, I have heard nothing but good about Brees from all sources ... including WWL. I have gone back through and wasted my time searching for any sign of your unfounded claims of Brees struggling and Winston being declared the best QB in camp "by far". None were to be found.
Seriously, where do you come up with this crap? People come to this forum and primarily this thread looking for facts and information about the Saints 2020 training camp and they see the these claims that you dream up instead. |

I heard Mike Detillier say that the rookie Marquez Callaway is starting to take some snaps as a gunner. Relatively new to him so there's a challenge.
Excel on special teams, then you have a shot ... especially as a undrafted guy. Just ask Josh Hill. |

JP, and others, are working hard to share every bit of factual information we can find concerning training camp. Try attempting to do the same. That is all. |

Re: 2020 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
After Further Review: Five takes from Saints practice #4 - Friday Practice
Take Two: Winston inaccurate during team periods For the second day in a row, Winston struggled with accuracy during the team periods. His first pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage, then he overthrew Marquez Callaway on a fade route. In his final period, he was a little behind Juwan Johnson on a shallow cross, then was late on a short throw to Callaway, that was broken up by Robinson. On the next play, he overthrew Jared Cook on a deep out. He finished the period with the interception to Williams described in take one. Winston tried to finesse the throw, and drop the ball in over the top to Tommy Stevens. He put a little too much air under it, which Williams took advantage of. Take Three: Other Top Plays Drew Brees and the first-team offense had their best stretch of camp in the first four plays of the second team period. Brees hit Michael Thomas (slant), Emmanuel Sanders (shallow cross, great YAC), Thomas again (out), and Jared Cook (out) for four straight completions. Read the rest here ... |

Anyone else more excited to see the defense than the offense for a change? Some of those guys sound pumped.

NOLA.com breakdown. Defense looking good. Scary good.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nol...d7a45.amp.html Is NOLA a reliable source or are they just picking on Brees and being negative? |

The defense had another impressive day during team periods, and Payton said as much. "I thought the defense had a pretty good day," Payton said. "Overall, I think they've got their legs underneath them." The offense started out strong with quarterback Drew Brees opening up the first team period with completions to wide receiver Michael Thomas, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, Thomas again and tight end Jared Cook before things went off the rails. On Brees' last attempt of that series, he overthrew a pass that appeared to be intended for wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith. When Brees came back into the team drills, he launched a pass intended for Thomas, but cornerback Janoris "Jackrabbit" Jenkins broke it up and Brees was less than pleased. On the next play, Brees had Cook in his sights but the ball fell incomplete, resulting in more frustration from Brees. Brees ended that three-play series with a completion to Thomas. In the second period of team drills, defensive end Carl Granderson, defensive end Cameron Jordan and linebacker Demario Davis all sacked Brees. Additionally, both Jenkins and safety Ceedy Duce nearly came up with interceptions of the Saints quarterback. WINSTON UPDATE Quarterback Jameis Winston had an increase in reps Friday with Taysom Hill absent, but not everything went according to plan. In the first team session, one of Winston's first passing attempts was batted down by defensive tackle Jalen Dalton. Winston was later sacked. He rebounded by connecting with wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey, but then overthrew rookie receiver Marquez Callaway on the next play. Winston bounced back with completions to running back Ty Montgomery and Callaway. On the last two plays of the first team session, Winston took a bad snap and completed a pass to wide receiver Deonte Harris. He then connected with wide receiver Emmanuel Butler. Winston started off the second team session with a handoff to running back Dwayne Washington, then had four straight incompletions. Cornerback Patrick Robinson was in on the coverage for two of those missed passes and cornerback Justin Hardee was involved with another. The fourth incompletion was overthrown. Winston wrapped up his six-play series with a completion to wide receiver Juwan Johnson. The second team period of practice ended with Winston having three more plays. He completed two passes to wide receiver Bennie Fowler III, but between those catches, cornerback P.J. Williams had an interception on a pass intended for rookie tight end Tommy Stevens. ___________________________ I don't see anything negative here. Except for maybe Winston's continued struggles. So, how does this support your premise that Brees will be replaced by Winston by week 4 AND that Brees is struggling AND Winston is "by far" the best QB in camp? Try again. |
