did anyone here see

Did anyone here see during thursday's game when they put up that stat, that only 2 players in the NFL had threw for 20+ TD's, and 3500+ yds the past 4 seasons. That's right our "crapy" QB was one of em. AB and Peyton Manning. Oh yea, he also ranks 3rd in concecitive games as a starter. Then they said AB and J Horn ranks 3rd in QB to WR TD's, only 1 behind Cullpepper and Moss. Its hard to beleive after all that, everyone still blames AB for us being a subpar team.

Yeah, I saw that. I was a little surprised when I heard it.

They didn't factor in interceptions, fumbles, passwer rating, red zone efficiency, and dumb plays though. That's what kills Brooks in a lot of people's books. If you just look at the total yards, he looks awfully impressive.

RE: did anyone here see

... did anyone here see during Thursday's game when they put up that stat, that the New Orleans Saints were the only team in 2004 not to score a single point in any one of their opening drives? Or how they got outscore by like a gazillion points to 20 in the 1st quarter?

Thought AB played well Thursday, but did anyone hear Joe Buck and Troy Aikman point out that since the Saints played from behing all last year, that AB's stats were inflated?

How many times have people said that exact same thing on this board, only to be called haters?

Why is everyone now-a-days so concerned and hung up on stats? We all know they're flawed...atleast, I hope we all do. Stats are only good for fantasy football. I wish they could incorporate the Unforced Error statistic into football. Maybe that would make stats for individual players more accurate?

Brooks inconsistency and inflated stats is one of the most consistent thoughts about a single player on a fan forums around the league .

This post is from a Panther Board , but it usually reads the same with the name Griese , Delhomme or Vick as the top quarterback .....

Aaron Brooks is one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks in the NFL; as far as an all-around QB goes, Delhomme is far and away the best in the NFC South. NOT Vick. Delhomme's got more heart and more drive than Brooks and Vick combined. Brooks wouldn't be anything without Horn and Stallworth to catch his passes. I'd take one Jake Delhomme over a hundred Aaron Brooks. The only reason Brooks's numbers have been good is because they're always playing from behind and he's got good receivers.

I wonder how long it will take for us to score on our opening drive this year

score on our opening drive
We did it in Foxboro. I take that as a good sign.

Yeah, we did score on our opening drive.....after Dwight Smith gave us a short field to work with.

It would be great to see them take their opening drive against Carolina 65 or 70 yards for a TD.
